Never. Braves signed him strictly as a reliever.

Tucker could do some multilinking long man work. I'm not sure what we have seen in Biddle given the number of LH we have.

Damn
Just let Davidson start in Gwinnett and stop the back and forth stuff. Snit's not going to use him unless we're up or down by 5+ runs, so what's the point?

Not if Davidson sucks. Then he’ll pitch the 8th in a 1-run game.

Check this out. Tucker's gained velocity. https://www.sportstalkatl.com/braves-top-prospect-tucker-davidson-has-seen-a-serious-spike-in-velocity/

That article is from last year. We saw Davidson last year, and he was unimpressive. Maybe he’ll be better in a relief role.

They said in the article that he couldn't maintain that velocity as a starter. Curious to see what his velocity is out of the bullpen. Hope he can maintain mid to upper 90's with the good control he showed at Gwinnett.

You'd think this is another arm capable of facing 9-18 batters that would pair well with other guys facing 9-18 batters to form the "piggy back starters" we talk about all the time on this board. Guys like Ynoa, Smyly and Morton should only face 15-20 batters, and then be followed by a guy like Davidson, Touki, Wright or Wilson to cover 7+ innings as a pair.
I haven't seen any indication that Snit can manage a staff in such a manner though.

I think that’s the way to go. Long relievers who aren’t mop up men should really be as valuable as back end of the rotation starters. With a piggy back system maybe a pair could work every 4th day. As is we’re trying to use the same growing list of setup men from the sixth on in every competitive game.

We have long guys now. Can we please bring Arcia up for Tomlin... I really don’t want to see Tomlin or Biddle in another game for the Braves
