Doesn't have to be wholesale. Probably a good idea to let Arcia rotate around the IF this week

We all bitched about the Sunday lineups Bobby trotted put there, but that managerial strategy damn worked. “You guys win on Friday and Saturday nights, and then go home and party it up with your women and enjoy yourselves being at home. I’ll let the bench play Sunday. But you gotta win the series first”

Facing a LHP this seemed like a good day to get Acuna, Olson and Harris a day off.

Oh well, at least now we know that narrative about freeman being the reason guys weren’t rested was a complete fallacy.

Duvall RF
Arcia 3B

How many international players have the new guard brought in after being punished by the actions of the old guard?

Odd right? It doesn’t fit your moronic narrative so you can’t even wrap your tiny brain around it.

One thing I’ve realized lately, which probably should have been obvious from the start, is that the best type of baseball analytically isn’t the most entertaining. It’s super boring watching guys walk and strike out and hit 2-3 bombs a game and go station to station on the bases to avoid running into outs.

So that’s the dilemma…the best way to win isn’t the most exciting way to play, even though winning is the ultimate goal.

Well, I was being a bit over dramatic about how poorly AA has drafted, as pointed out by jpx.

I agree that there isn’t much to complain about with AA. Sure, I’m very vocally against moves like the Will Smith and Rosario deals, and I think they haven’t drafted all that well, but overall AA is a very good GM and I have zero doubt the Braves are much better off with him instead of the Coppy/Hart/JD trio.

The only difference between Olson this year and every other year is a bunch of missing fly balls. Instead of 24 doubles and 7 HRs he would usually have closer to 15 doubles and 15 HRs.

So that’s my hope…he just needs to get back to lifting the ball more because that’s all he’s missing. Hopefully the only person on the planet that can help him with that isn’t employed by the As.

In 32 PAs

.250/.250/.563 plus what he’s done today.

So…a typical Duvall hot stretch that probably has nothing to do with his defensive position…just like Swanson isn’t hitting well due to being the in the 2 spot.

He’s been bad and batted ball profile was bad.

I was thinking that guy is balling out to say, “please god trade me out of here. I’m good”

Reynolds has to look over at our team, most near his age, with the only real hole in the of and dreaming why can’t I go there.

First time the Braves have won 11 games in a month since last October.

I know it is the first time in like 10 plus years we have won 11 or more games in a row, but is this the longest winning streak of the year?

Hey guys. Duvall has a 1028 OPS in June. Is that good?

Someone recently said they weren’t worried about Duvall....

This is what Duvall does. He is hot and cold. Almost all tied to power. He will go back to cold.

Being able to be more strategic about who he hits against will help.

Rosario will help out a ton with this.

Hopefully Snit finds a way to balance playing time between Ozuna and Duvall.

Quintana has had a pretty good year so far. It's encouraging to see Duvall hit well agaisnt a lefty.

Quintana is someone to look at during the trade deadline btw.

I think we're okay on SP. Bullpen is a more likely target i think. Maybe LF depending how Rosario is.

Quintana would put Strider back in the pen.

I was thinking SP as well....

Morton
Fried
Anderson
Wright
Strider

With Morton and Anderson having inconsistent years, we'd want to get a frontline starter if possible. However, there aren't really any available....There is always the possibility to get Syndergaard on the cheap, however, keep in mind that Soroka could be back as soon as next month.

This is depending on Soroka. If he's back, i dont think we really need a SP.

Not sure I could stand to have him on the team. He is soooo slow.

I think Strider is the guy. My issue is that with Strider and Anderson I'm looking at a couple of guys who I think are more likely to be 4-5 inning guys in the playoffs. Maybe Wright too, b/c despite his low runs in the playoffs Wright has walked a ton. So I really need McHugh to be healthy and better. Ideally I'd like to have Soroka as a 2 inning guy. Maybe I think about a guy like Muller. Maybe Morton could play up in a short stint. Maybe a trade for a guy I think can get through a good line up once.

Fried, Wright, Anderson and Strider are my 4 SP for the playoffs and I feel pretty good about that. I just need some guys that can be a two inning bridge to the night shift.

I know they are not super proven, but i don't think we have the ammo to get a real impact guy. I'd rather pitcher Strider than Quintana.

I think Mueller is a good option to go the Wright Route, pitching in AAA all season, ironing things out, and then join the playoff roster (IF APPLICABLE #nojinx), before heading into 2023 as a legit rotation candidate. The rest of the guys in AAA are a tier below—though Davidson might be able to fill a role like Dylan Lee, and Elder could yet turn into a passable 4th or 5th starter.

Braves drew 233,461 fans in a 6 game home stand against the Pirates and Athletics.

This is insane.

AA and Wash both believe in bumps.

30% attendance bump over last year
15% bump over 2019 (pre-Covid)

Hopefully AA is able to afford a better handler for Wash’s habits
