City of Savannah is basically closed tomorrow.
Restaurants closing, stores closing.
It's pretty sad actually. It may not even snow, just rain hail. It's only supposed to drop to 26 and the "icing" is going to cause the shutdown of the city...
Savannah has a ton of terrible drivers as it is, so maybe this is a good move.

This is the norm up here. People believe they can drive the speed limit or higher because they are in SUV's and they are the ones that are usually in the ditch or overturned along with pickups as well.

Saw a lot of this on the news this morning. My heart goes out to everyone down South because this is simply once in a blue moon kind of stuff. Like AA says, we're used to this up here in the Midwest. Which is why all the state/county/city/township road crews have enough salt and road clearing equipment to keep things going. I doubt that kind of stuff is in local government budgets down your way.
Hunker down. Most schools have been shut down for five days here in Minnesota (statewide with a couple of closings called by the Governor) this winter, which is extremely rare, so this snap of weird weather has pretty much hit everyone east of the Mississippi in one way or another.
But stay safe everybody. It's no fun (and really not safe) to be driving around in the crap you are experiencing.

I am one of those SLOOOOOOOWWW drivers when it comes to this weather. I have to worry about myself and the other driver.

My head is on a swivel when I'm driving in this weather. I drive very defensively. I don't know if this is happening to you in Wisconsin, but with our increasingly mobile society (and immigration), there are a lot of folks living in Minnesota who haven't quite caught on to winter driving techniques.
