7 SEC teams ranked in ESPN's top ten team ranking. Bama ranked #1 as per the usual.

Of course they did, if a recruit signs with an SEC school, they gain a star. :)

My school got 14 or 15, 3 star recruits so I am pumped. Number 2 in C-USA

Georgia Southern ranked no 1 in the Sun Belt in their first year. I'll take it . Best class we have ever signed. I think 11/20 3 stars? Solid with new coach having only 3 weeks to snag guys. That's a whale of a job with our coach leaving at Christmas!

Malik McDowell a 5 star DE and the #2 rated player at his position commits to MSU, but his parents don't want him to go there. It's mainly his mother who chooses to not support her son. His Dad is will back him up. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I am gonna guess and say he'll never play for the Spartans.

These things usually end with kid signs with the team he was supposed to. Usually at least one prospect per year this happens to.

Tennessee with a top 5 class is great to see again after some so-so yrs with Dooley. Really excited about the highly touted RB's coming in.

Also, we're currently the favorites to land Zach Gentry from New Mexico for 2015. Kid is a monster. QB 6'6 230 and runs a 4.68 forty

As a Notre Dame fan, I use to care more about this kind of stuff then I realized certain academic schools (nd, Stanford) are more about the classroom than athletic ability.

Nd's class looks good enough.

You don't really believe that ND is more about the classroom than athletic ability, right?

It's all relative. I mean Auburn finished 9th on Rivals, which is a very good class, but that's only good for 4th in the SEC West and 7th in the SEC. USC finished 10th which puts them first in the PAC 12. Notre Dame at #12 puts them right at or better than their main rivals and typical schedule.

The big surprise to me is how terrible Nebraska did. I mean they typically finish around 20 or so with a star average well above 3, but they finished very low in the ranking with a star average below 3.

ACC had a good year with 3 teams in the top 15 and 5 in the top 25.

Vandy signed a blatant homosexual, which I find fascinating. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but I'm incredibly curious to see how his college career plays out.

You're right, it will be interesting to see what sort of waves an openly homosexual player will (or won't) make in a conservative league of a conservative sport.

However, I don't think "blatant" is the word you're looking for ... maybe "open," or "out"?

Do I believe that certain schools like ND, Stanford, and BC would rather take a 3-star with a 3.8 gpa than a 5-star thug? Yes I do.

Maybe a 4 star. You're pushing your luck.
