I went with Freeman and I don't think it is close.

Braves don't have one MVP. Freddie has been the most consistent contributor, but the Braves wouldn't be sniffing where they are at without Mac, Gattis, and Justin, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Minor. He's been pretty much rock solid all season, and he gives us a shot to win every 5 games.

Fredi Gonzalez isn't an option?

Neither is Laird?

Teheran should get a spot up there.

Minor edges him out, but I'd put him on over Johnson.

I was going to put BJ up there but I decided against it.

That kinda what I thought but as far as Johnson goes, he is batting .332 in 250 plate appearances. The guy is putting together some pretty good numbers and it is welcome with all of our free swingers we have.

Johnson has a high average but he has it because he's a free swinger. Only Freddie swings at more pitches and no starter swings at more pitches outside of the zone (meaning that while Freddie swings more, he swings at pitches that are strikes.

CJ23 is who I voted for. Third base was a giant question mark going into the season and it's now a non issue. Clearly all the Braves players have been reason for the teams success.

Freddie Freeman

He's picked us up all year. Hopefully in the 2nd half others decided to join him.

The catching position is the mvp.

I would agree with Carp. Mac and Gattis lead the team in WAR at 1.9 and 1.8. Sure Gattis has played some other positions a little but the catching position is the big winner for the team. Even Laird has a 0.6 WAR in limited action. Overall Braves catchers have a 4.3 WAR which is the best in baseball. Freeman has been the most consistent hitter on the team however. Since Mac is the only catcher listed in the poll I will go with him.

There is no real "MVP". Everyone's WAR is pretty much the same.(Simmons is tied with Freddie and Justin btw, His fielding is amazing duh) If you think batting average means a lot Freeman and CJ will get some votes but the guys that have really contributed the most out of the players that have played since opening day have been Minor and Julio and it's not even close IMO. Minor with a 2.0 and JT with a 1.5. The three mentioned before(Simmons, Freddie and Justin) are at 1.5 and are everyday players for the most part. McCann and Gattis are the best hitters on the team but they have missed so much time. Either would be a good vote though. We've basically got some production from everyone. Real team effort. Although BJ has a negative WAR so yeah. A real change from last year when it was basically Heyward and Bourn in the top tier, Prado then everyone else.

Good summary. I don't agree with your conclusion, though. To me, BJ Upton is clearly the MVP of this team.
—Brian Jordan

Seriously, good summary.

BJ is the glue that holds this team together. Without him the guys would be too relaxed and Brian Jordan wouldn't have anything interesting to say after games.

Evan Gattis no question about it in my opinion. He has 10 plate apperances as a pinch hitter and has a 3.175 OPS. He has a .750 batting average and half his hits have been home runs. He has been the definition of clutch this year. He has a 1.148 OPS from the 7th inning on.
