The Braves announced Saturday morning that Hall of Famer Hank Aaron required partial left hip surgery last night after he fell on some ice.

Aaron, who just turned 80 years old earlier this month, is expected to make a full recovery. In fact, he should to be back to his normal routine within 6-8 weeks. Good news under the circumstances.

The Braves recently announced that they plan to wear a commemorative “715″ patch this season to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Aaron breaking MLB’s home run record. “Hammerin’ Hank” is scheduled to be honored during an on-field ceremony at Turner Field for the team’s home opener on April 8. Here’s hoping he’s back to 100 percent by then.
