But if you just go low and away on him 0-2 he usually goes fishing. I'm afraid that the second half that more pitchers pitch him as Latos did. If so Uggla and BJ will have to do better, that's for sure.

Yeah I don't get it. The idea that he's going to become a bad hitter is just wrong. We aren't talking about his defense, just his hitting.

Nobody thinks he is a horrible hitter. He isn't. But with that defense he's an average at best player. Sure for what he's making that's fine. But we can and should do better overall.

I have no issues with his hitting. But I do have issues with him overall as a player. He is a stop gap until he starts making serious money.

I never said he was a long-term option at 3B. I know his defense is terrible. And I know he won't keep up this kind of offensive production. I was just pointing out that if he were even an average defensive player than his career normal hitting line would be fine on this team as it is currently constructed. Nothing more and nothing less. You can't have a superstar at every position with the payroll budgets the Braves have.
