Thanks Rico, I expected Bello the Cuban catcher we signed to end up in AA. Maybe he'll be added later.

I thought Salcedo would repeat AA. Interesting flip-flop of him and Leonard.

Everything else is pretty much as I expected. Interested to see how the Lynchburg group does in AA.

I find it interesting they put Salcedo in AAA while putting Leonard in AA. There's marginal difference in the leagues, so I guess it's a symbolic gesture letting Salcedo know he's the current kind of the minor league 3B?

AA has most of the pitchers I'll be watching (aside for Sims and Cabrera)

Not much out there that I really want to watch for position players though. Would be interesting to see how Kubitza develops. A solid AA performance and he could be a bench candidate maybe replace Johnson if he gets hurt candidate.

Will also be fun to see how Kyle Wren plays. Was he just a flash in the pan? My gut says yes, but my heart wants to believe no.

I find it interesting that Carlos Salazar was moved up to Rome after his mediocre debut. He must've had a great spring.

I thought Alec Grosser, Nelson Leon and Michael Flores would've made the Rome team. I know the rosters could change before the season with injuries though.

The Braves must be seeing something in Edward Salcedo that I do not see. I mean, at some point, you have to produce.

I have no idea about Salcedo's chances of big league success, but the Braves have certainly pushed him along. His development is likely behind the level at which he's been playing. That said, as I wrote above, I was a bit surprised that he didn't repeat AA.

Question. Joey Meneses has always been an OF. Are they moving him to the IF or is the milb.com roster in error?

No love for Elander? I know his glove is going to hurt him but his bat may carry him to the big leagues. As I've said numerous times he is hte guy I expect to have the big break out this year.

So I see that Hursh is on the Alex Wood path. There are some really good arms on that AA team. I really believe the depth of pitching on the farm is really strong with the hitting on the way in the lower levels. I think there might be yet another wave to come while all of our previous wave are making big money. Very important year down on the farm. With improvements to the right guys Wren can rest be confident in consolidating the cap to a group of 10-12 players whil knowing the gaps will be filled in from the farm and under the radar signings.

I'm a little surprised on Flores, a little less on Grosser and Leon who are likely slated for Danville. I think one of the things they do is get the college guys going as soon as possible and let the high school and younger international guys slot in after guys either move up or there are injuries.

PS--Not surprised at all on Salazar. He was probably the highest ceiling guy we drafted last year. They are pushing him, but if he's not ready he could find himself back in Danville.

Leon hurt his arm. Might have had TJ surgery. Merejo too. They might not be back until July/August if at all this year.

The team seems to like Waszak. First giving him starts last year, and pushing him up to Lynchburg this year.

He had a nice season in Danville, but I always fear the ghost of Willie Kempf with guys like Waszak. 4-year senior (I think Kempf was a 5-year senior) and those guys usually eat up short-season ball and the lower levels. They aren't messing around with him. Must have shown them something.

I wonder if Brosius will be given a chance to start in Rome. One of the pitching coaches was raving about him during instructs.

I think they took Schlosser as a senior too. Sometimes the older guys keep improving.

Interesting history on Brosius. He was a highly-regarded HS QB who committed to play at North Carolina State. Didn't play baseball there, but left NCSU after after two years and transferred to Walters State (TN) to play baseball. Braves drafted him after one season at Walters State, which is a pretty decent baseball factory. My guess is he's a raw talent with some interesting potential.

Great find on Brosius. Do you think he is going to be stretched out as a starter eventually?
