Welcome, you will quickly learn that Chop Country is just like every other internet sports site. All the burger flippers, truck drivers, garbage collectors (errmm Environmental Specialists) and 7-eleven employees are all more knowledgeable and qualified than the actual professionals who do this for a living. They know how to manage, are top tier hitting and pitching coaches, marketing genius's and all around baseball gods. Basically, they are overqualified to work in MLB, so they settled for anonymous internet poster.

So, if you think you know it all, you should fit right in. Or, if you are like me, you will spend 95% of the time laughing your ass off at these guys. Enjoy

Glad to have you here. Feel free to invite any bravos friends. Hope you'll be active in the gameday threads. The gameday threads are a roller coaster depending on the momentum of the game. When we win it's kumbaya. When we are behind or lose it's fredi attacks everywhere and impulsive negative emotion. Should have seen this place when Carpenter gave up the home run to Uribe and Kimbrel was still in bullpen.

This forum has a crazy cast of characters. Most intelligent sports forum I've been on with good ribbing humor sarcasm and most of all flirting.

I look forward to spending time getting to know everyone and trying to post as much as often (as you may of noticed I've been doing so far). The other forum I go to is much like that emotion wise, but there's just a lot of personal attacks and that's not what I want to see.

As for personal attacks, you'll see them on here (as you can see murph and gilesfan already in midseason form), but in other threads it doesn't get bad. The worst of it are the second guessing Fredi posts, but if we win they're at a minimum. We have a designated Fredi Rant thread, so anything bashing Fredi not pertaining to the live baseball game at the time will be moved or relegated there. The job is to minimize the Fredi bashing from seeping into other threads on here. As I tell all the newbies, the gameday thread is the house of horrors that you'll have some kicks and giggles reading. A roller coaster as I mentioned previously, just gotta go with it and learn to ignore some of the negativity and just know it's part of the game lol. I call it the "human element" of a discussion board.
