Not many things better than an ice cold glass of milk. Alcohol excluded of course. I don't mess around with that skim crap either. Whole or 2 percent is where it's at.

What about 1%?

I love a cold glass of milk. But nothing beats coming inside from out in the heat better than a huge glass of ice water. When I was a kid, chilled powerades (not gatorade) were the perfect satisfaction from playing sports to going inside.

Not my favorite Sean Penn film, but probably my favorite Diego Luna film.

I will drink 1% if that is all there is. Like I am at someone's place and that's all they have to drink.

I was a fan of all sport back in the day. I have found it at random places in the past, but it wasn't the same. I do miss the lemon ice flavor of gatorade though.

Actually the best drinks when I was a kid were mondo drinks... way better than Kool-Aid squeeze bottles.

So can someone tell me the difference between whole milk and 2%?

That seems like quite a big gap there.

Usually the 2% comes with a blue label on the jug/carton, and whole milk usually comes with the red label.

Whole milk is 3.25% fat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_content_of_milk#United_States), under the US taxonomy.

Yeah, curious about the difference is the % of whole vs 2%.

I'm not silly enough to believe that whole milk is 100%, and then the next available is 2%. So what % is whole?

Interesting. I wonder why they don't just label it as 3%

Even regulation butter is only ~80% fat.

I would assume "whole milk" developed as a response to people taking things out of straight-up milk, then adding descriptors to the new product. To wit, OED defines "whole milk" as whole milk n. milk from which no constituents have been removed; also attrib..

Then again Mondo was the rich kid's hugs.

And you can get a 20 pack of Hugs for 3 bucks at Walmart. I'm talking about as a kid,Hugs were a quarter and Mondos were 50 cents where I grew up. I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones

My friend choked on the foil piece that sealed the hugs when we were 8 years old on a hot summer day playing baseball in the street. True story.

Also underrated, we had a candy lady in the neighborhood that sold "thrills". Not sure what colloquial term in other regions of the country is, but basically she just put kool-aid in a solo cup, froze it with a popsicle stick in the middle, and it was amazing.

Usually if a woman sells kids thrills she winds up in jail not too much later.

Coconut milk plus espresso plus a bit of actual cream. It's legit.

(Yes, I stole the concoction from the CocoCafe (http://www.drinkcococafe.com/) brand.)
