Cordero pitched well until running out of steam in the fifth inning. He had a strong season in the GCL last year. Glad to see him get the call to Rome.

I know Victor Reyes is young and far from the majors and has yet to show much power. But he's turning into quite a prospect. His emergence will make it easier to let one of Heyward/Justin Upton go.

Some of the guys in Rome are starting to hit, which is good to see. Curious to see if Meneses spends the whole season there.

I hope they don't go crazy about Reyes' lack of power. Kid can clearly hit. Hopefully his natural development will bring about more power but if not I'd welcome some more contact hitters on the team.

It probably has everything to do with the possibility he hasn't filled out physically and/or hasn't learn to consistently lift/pull the ball. Two reasons to leave him in Rome all season. He is all of 19. No need to rush him.

I agree thats the reason but I just hope they don't try to tinker with his swing to generate more loft at contact. If he is just a high average high doubles guy I'm fine with that. We need to stop thinking homerun or bust.

Agree. Let him develop.

On the other hand, it looks like they have either tinkered with Meneses or he has simply gotten his feet underneath him. A lot more power this year. Of course, he is repeating the level.

When I saw Reyes he made consistent hard contact. He has a very nice level swing from both sides of the plate.

I know he is in a slump, but you gotta like that he (TLS) still walked twice even though he can't put the bat on the ball.
