#Braves lineup: Heyward 9 J. Upton 7 Freeman 3 Gattis 2 Johnson 5 B.J. Upton 8 Simmons 6 Pena 4 Minor 1

Pena at second, Simba playing short. That is a very good defense in the infield. I really like this lineup... and the pitcher back in the 9-hole! I hope Minor pitches another beauty.

Maybe we should make like StLouis and bunt.

We can't. The only guy on the team that can get one down at all is on the bench in favor of the Human Stadium Fan tonight. Was it supposed to be so warm in Atlanta that Fredi decided B. J.'s services were going to be needed???

Also Freeman and Upton are 7th and 9th in baseball in WRC+. Not bad, especially for that bum Justin.

He's a really good player. It's unbelievable how much hate he gets.

It's the inexplicable gripe of this season. It boggles the mind.

Well, I guess there is the fact that he lacks grit.

Doumit on facing former teammate and position player Lyle Overbay: "“Kid’s got nasty stuff. He’s got a bright future ahead of him."

We might have our new David Ross.

Perhaps, now that he's established that he can, indeed, hit.

I wonder if having Overbay able to work out of the 'pen for them eases the sting of having cut Don Juan in ST?

He suffers from a form of the "Andruw's smile" argument although J. Upton seems more sullen on the field. It's a style over substance gripe. I don't know the stats, but it does seem that he takes a lot of called strikes and gripes a little about it, which can rub some folks the wrong way. When he's dialed in, he's golden.

He also seemingly swings right through tons of meatballs right down the pipe.

He suffers from being physically gifted and somewhat dark both in mien and complexion.

Yeah. Imagine how good he could be if he never missed one of those.

but he (JUp) is a dreadful leftfielder and his speed doesn't translate to anything plus on the bases.

With the bat my impression is he's well below his overall production with guys on base (too lazy to look it up) which is a big negative if true.

Anything plus on the bases? Seriously? He is one of our best out there. Never makes a mistake on the bases and knows when to swipe and when to take the extra bag.

He is also the BEST starter on the team with runners in scoring position.
