I don't understand dropping J-Upt in the order. I love Gattis but that doesn't seem right. Put J-Upt in the two hole.

Well the records are not being kept at this point so its more of tradition. To summarize:

If the team wins the GDT for the following game is made by the same person. If the team loses the GDT is up for grabs.

No harm no foul.

I'm more surprised Gattis is starting. Fredi usually sits him after he records a multi hit game it seems.

Sounds good! Wasn't sure on the GDT tradition here. I'm having surgery on my wrist tomorrow, but if we win tonight I'll try to find a way to get the lineup posted, unless you want the honors back lol

Say this for Justin: there were some legit concerns about his durability when he was traded here, but so far he's answered the bell. Could very easily have sat this one out.

Is it just me, or do announcers always make a comment about pitchers going down and in on a hitter immediately after he fouls a ball off his foot, and do pitchers never actually do that?

The Braves have had many embarrassing performances this year, but they all pale in comparison to this one. What a total piece of garbage performance this is. They collectively should be embarrassed, haven't even hit a ball hard through 12 batters against a guy making his major league debut who was mediocre at best in the minor leagues.

I don't think I've ever seen a hitter end up in the opposite batter's box on every swing. Isn't anyone in that dugout concerned at all about his fundamentals at the plate? It's getting to be ridiculous.

That's not true the Braves have had good success this year against lefties, but this performance tonight is just inexcusable. They're not even trying to make the kid work. How can you shut out at Coors Field, unbelievable.

Actually, he's doing a pretty fair job of doing that to himself. Perhaps before the year is over, BJ might make something other than a lob throw back to the infield after a base hit to centerfield.

We are one of the better teams in baseball this year against left-handed pitchers. #2 behind the Rockies. We suck horribly against right-handed pitchers.

Welp. It was a fun season boys. We've staved off elimination as much as we have been able to since Opening Day. The ride was fun but all great things come to an end. Looking forward to 2015 already! Upton, Gattis, Simmons, Freeman, and Johnson all have over a .900 OPS against lefties (Justin and Gattis DESTROY them). No one does against righties.
