So what do you do if Peraza is killing it at AA and CJ is slumping?

He's playing second base.

He can play 3B easily imo.

Even Fredi won't play a rookie at an unfamiliar position.

He put Gattis at 1B and LF with no experience at the two positions his rookie season.

I'm wondering why they didn't promote Wren as well. He and Peraza formed a nice 1-2 punch and Wren has been smoking hot lately. Wren is older so I figured they would be more aggressive in pushing him. Guy just gets on base and when on he can cause a lot of havok.

So should Peraza be a top 20 prospect nationally when the season is over under teh assumption he continues his level of performance this year? Not sure why anyone would want to trade him. He is a better prospect than Elvis ever was IMO.

Nice night for Hursh. 14 ground ball outs, 0 fly outs. Not striking out many guys (not walking many either), but he's making hitters pound it into the ground.

The thing with Andrus is that he was 16 when he hit the states and it was all about projection. As young for classification as Peraza is, Andrus was even younger. That said, Andrus never hit the way Peraza has and Andrus may never develop into anywhere near the offensive player scouts thought he would coming up through the minors. The Rangers may well regret the fact they've signed Andrus through 2022 at $15 M/year (which kicks in next season).

BA will be coming out with their Top 50 Mid-Season list soon. I think he'll be in the Top 50 but not Top 20.

I was wondering that myself. Didn't want to push two at once? Roster issue?

Has to be roster issue but Wren deserves a promotion right now. Need to be aggressive with him to see if he is a realistic option in the future. With his OBP skills, speed and ability to play CF you have to see if he can be a major leaguer.

I don't know if he is hurt or not, but Matt Lipka is not getting any at bats in Mississippi. It would make sense to send him down and promote Kyle Wren. It would also make sense to put Mychal Jones back in Gwinnett.

Lipka needed surgery on his hand or wrist. He is expected back later this season. Right now the outfielders in AA are Jones, Hunter, Rohm and Mitchell. In AAA we have Cunningham, Terdoslavich, Constanza and Boggs. I'd like to see Wren get a promotion too, but there is a little bit of a backlog. These things have a way of sorting themselves out.

Solution.

DFA Jordan Schafer. Call up Todd Cunningham. Promote Myke Jones to AAA. Promote Kyle Wren to AA.

If there is a big hurry to move Wren up, I'd release either the backup guy in AAA (Boggs) or the backup guy in AA (Mitchell). It'll sort itself out.

Come on dude this is so far fetched. And Chris Johnson would murder AA. Ridiculous to think a light hitting middle infielder is going to come up and outhit Chris Johnson right now. And I hate CJ. I like Peraza but he's nowhere near a top 20 guy.

Hunter also had another big game including 4 RBI's. I'd like to see him called up personally, he already has had 4 AB's in the Majors in the past. Further, I am not surprised by Peraza and I agree with those saying third base wouldn't be an issue for him. However, I wouldn't want him at third long term. But for a year or two I'd be okay with it and then either move him to centerfield or second.
