How many guys are we pulling from the Indy leagues now, compared to in the past? Is this a newer thing or just something that your coverage has made me more aware of?

I think indy league additions are up. Probably a cheap supplement to the minors if I had to guess. Like low cost gambling if there is such a thing.

Cheap is the key word. You are buying contracts like old, old school baseball and not negotiating with the player. And yes, these signing are way up since 2011. Update has another one, an outfielder.
