Basically name a player, preferably the most random Brave player you can think of, that you didn't think would ever be Brave, or perhaps had a brief moment of infamy as an Atlanta Brave.

I'll start:

Derek Lee.

Nearly forgot entirely that he was a Brave until someone mentioned him the other day. I remember thinking he was going to be big for us when we got him. And now that I look at his stats, he ended up performing much better than I remember him doing.

Nick Esasky. He was coming off a big year 30 homers at the age of 29 and then 30 some odd at bats with the Braves then he was done playing baseball.

Will Rogers.

Really had no clue he was a native until I looked it up. They sometimes sneak at you in the worst places.

He got 300 ABs for us one year. What year? I don't know, since I have no recollection of it.

Armando Almanzar, 2004.

Completely forgot he was on our team, until I was watching the new Bobby Cox:Driven special I DVR'd and saw his name on a uniform briefly walk in the dugout in a 2 second clip.

Also, I never thought Rudy Seanez would have a second tour with us. Somewhat glad he won a ring in 2008 with Philly.

Is he still pitching? I heard he has glue, cow sinew, duct tape and other household items to keep his arm going.

Amazing that a guy whose arm was so fragile was able to pitch into his late 30s.

Lyle Overbay may retire the trophy. Wasn't he hitless for his month?

Never thought I'd see Derek Lee in a tomahawk uni. From Miami to Chicago.

Kind of reminds me of a right-handed Heyward.

Troy Glaus and Garret Anderson.

If we had those SOBs 8 years earlier, our 2002 team might have gotten to the WS.

This helped refresh some memory:

It's kind of surreal that Jim Bouton was once a Brave.

Never expected John Burkett to become a Brave, but was a great Leo reclamation project.

Greg Colbrunn. Liked him. Schuerholz got him twice. Guy left both times ASAP. Shocked the 2nd time.

Don't remember Norm Charlton as a Brave.

Remember Jody Davis becoming a Brave for 2 Kevin Coffman & another Kevin but don't remember Jody Davis being a Brave for 2 seasons.

Kind of cool that there was a Brave, named Jack Daniels.

Ozzie Guillen? Why does that not ring a bell that he was a Brave?

Danny Heep: that's f'd up, considering he was who the Mets got for Mike Scott.

Didn't know Tony Larussa was a Brave until getting ready to head down for HOF induction weeked in Cooperstown. Honestly.

The FA signing of Andy Messersmith was HUGE deal, but the memory is a blur, esp. with having been so young back then. This had to have been a Ted Turner-instigated publicity stunt, like the Bruce Sutter signing.

Joe Pepitone: that's borderline surreal, too.

Biff Pocoroba - not so much a surprise, as great pride.

From the old days, Babe Ruth was a Boston Brave. Really. Before that, Casey Stengel as a player. Before that, Cy Young was a Brave in his last season.

Need to go through that list when there's more time. From the other side, of those whom it was a suprise did not become a Brave was Britt Burns. Pretty good LH pitcher for the White Sox. Came from Alabama. Strong rumors that he was going to be signed. Yes, kids, even back in the 80's, anybody from the SE was considered a possibility.
