Rico,
This is a vague arse question, but here goes...

Didn't we have some fairly notable Korean (or was it Taiwanese?) signings a few years ago? I remember a catcher I think. We had a period where we signed some guys from odd places and it doesn't appear that panned out correct?

The low end of player development is low key it's ridiculous. None of the media members with any cachet give a crap, so no one asks and nothing gets said. I believe all of these players in question were released in January or thereabouts, so zero publicity because all of the baseball writers are watching college football bowl games. Good example: Joe Morgan, the MLB.com Braves "beat" guy, just wrote Friday that the Braves wound up signing 21 players from the 2014 draft. I have documented 27, and at most, two of those are in question because they haven't seen action yet. How can you be that far off if you gave a damn?

Wren and Peraza putting on a show. 5 hits and a walk in their first 8 plate appearances, including 2 doubles and a triple. Oh and each has a stolen base. Dynamic duo to have at the top of a lineup.

Connor Lien is on a hot streak. This is a good thing. The Braves badly need this guy along with Justin Black, Fernelys Sanchez, and Tanner Murphy to step up and be the top notch prospects their talent suggests they can be. Throw in Braxton Davidson and Luke Dykstra as well. This organization needs some of these toolsy young guys to become skillful and productive.

Connor Lien's numbers over his past 89 at bats: .315/.392/.461/.853, 8 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 10 BB, 26 SO, 7 SB

Justin Black on the year: .317/.419/.381/.800, 2 2B, 1 3B, 9 BB, 27 SO, 7 SB, 63 AB

Fernelys Sanchez on the year: .277/.365/.446/.811, 6 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 23 SO, 9 BB, 5 SB, 65 AB

Tanner Murphy last 37 ABs: .243/.356/.405/.761, 3 2B, 1 HR, 7 SO, 7 BB

Lien has seemingly taken a positive step in his development. Supposedly is a big-time "tools" kid, which is welcome. Still Ks a bit much for my tastes, but not as much as Black or Sanchez. My guess these guys are going to get every chance and I hope they keep showing an upward tick in performance.

I like Tanner Murphy as well.
