Since our old Falcon, Felix, was lost for the season after one appearance, we need to find the next guy coming to the DSL out of nowhere. And we have a winner -- Dilmer Mejia!

Mejia, a Nicaragua native who turned 17 a week ago, was a DSL all-star this year and is currently a hefty 4-0, 1.15 through nine appearances. Batters are managing a meek .173 average after nine starts. He has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of them, and a 44-8 strikeout/walk ratio in 49 innings. Best thing about it: he's a lefty!

How about another big game for Luke Dykstra? Three doubles, three RBIs, giving him 14 in 23 games. Davidson had two more doubles and briefly had his average over .250. Just a matter of time for the big man.

Davidson is really starting to swing a hot bat.

Dykstra couldn't have had a better start. Jeez... Strong kid.

It will be interesting to see where Dykstra starts (both level and position) next season. He's a California kid who will be 19 in November, so he's probably polished enough to skip Danville altogether. I wonder if the Braves will move him to the OF given the plethora of middle IF prospects at our lower levels. At any rate, it looks like the kid can hit and if there is anything this system needs right now, it is pure hitters.

My guess is Dystra and Albies will be our middle infielders in Rome next season. With Edgerton at third. McElroy and Obregon will also be part of the mix.

The outfield will come from Davidson, Curcio, Black, Livesay, Sanchez, Daris and Piloto. I'm guessing Lien will be in Lynchburg.

Should be a much more talented team than this year's version. Pitching should be pretty good too with Grosser, Povse, Sobotka, Fulencheck, Salazar and Miranda in the mix.

Lynchburg is likely to be pretty weak, with the core of that team coming from this year's Rome team.

I don't know how Lynchburg will be next season. I think there's a fair amount of offensive talent in Rome, especially if Meneses recovers (progress on that injury has gone largely unreported). I wonder if Victor Reyes goes through Rome again.

Any word on Mikey Reynolds (when he is eligible to return)?

And what's the word on Elander? Another injury that appears to have been worse than initially thought. Elander's another guy who will probably repeat a level (and would be a candidate to move up quickly if shown to be healthy).
