On the back end of Danville's 12-inning, come-from-behind, 2-1 win was three shutout innings (and a win) for Dustin Emmons. He is NOT the 2011 Mets minor leaguer; this guy throws 97 MPH and was scouted by the Braves in the obscure Coastal Plain League. In his brief time there after finishing at Rutherford JC, he was pitching lights out relief for the Steamers in 2014: going 1-0 in 14 appearances and registering two saves. He pitched 15 innings, allowed nine hits, three runs and most impressively held a 27/6 strikeout to walk ratio. With Danville, small sample size noted, he's worked in three games, totaling five innings. He's allowed two hits, no runs, no walks and four strikeouts. He a wiry slingshot at 6-2, 175 and is quite possibly an utter steal of a signing. We'll see!

The Braves have signed yet another undrafted free agent and assigned him to the Gulf Coast Braves.

University of Tampa centerfielder Connor Obrochta, who hit a career .324 as a four-year letterman, signed this week.

In addition to decent power (13 career homers, including one in the College World Series), he was hit by a pitch 48 times in his career.

Obrochta (R/R) is 6-0, 195 and is a native of Gulfport, Fla.
