The rapidly sinking Gwinnett Braves will face highlyl touted and SIGNED 2014 pick Carlos Rodon tonight as he makes his Triple-A debut for Charlotte in his home state. The G-Braves can take consolation in knowing Rodon won't beat them -- because he has not yet been allowed to pitch four innings in any previous start, much less five.

In his career thus far in stops in Class A and AA, Rodon is a big fat 0-0, 2.84 with 25 strikeouts in 12.2 innings. Among his Whjite Sox farmhand teammates, on paper at least, is Tommy Hanson. The traded-in-time ex-Brave is 3-6, 6.36 for Charlotte, but has been on the DL since June 9.

--------------
Graham pitched the ninth for Miss. with a 9-0 lead. The result: 0.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER(3R), 0 BB, 1 K.

In the kick me, hard, department, Brandon Drury was just named Southern League Hitter of the Week (12-24, 2 HR,5 RBIs).

at 3B no less. We had him at first before he was shipped out.

Its funny that he is going to be the player that will have the most impact for the D-Backs from that trade.

What an odd sense of humor!

Thought it would be Delgado, because up to that point he had shown flashes while Julio was struggling.

Yeah. I think he and Kubtiza rotated at 3B, but he did play a lot of 1B in Rome in 2012.

Good for Drury. Raw kid when the Braves got him and it may have been a break for him to head to the D-Backs. He appears to have become more selective at the plate. He's still not a walking machine, but he's gotten better. I always liked him, but we did get Justin Upton after all. The question becomes, did we throw in Drury to get Chris Johnson?

Delgado looked pretty good at AA too. He is still a prospect, he isn't anywhere close to a sure thing.

Drury played 3B some but Kubitza had the better arm. Drury also played a little at 2B.
