He's been carrying the team so far this month.
1.229 OPS
Tremendous display of grit maturity leadership and clutchness in the most important month of the season.

I was at the game yesterday, and he had that look/swagger that said "I got this...."

Shall we extent him?

We should either extent him or trade him while his value is peaking. One or the other.

He hasn't struck out in the last three games either. Could his new contacts be making a difference? Hard to say.

Only if someone is spraying them with HGH.

Yep. I'm looking for some kind of a miracle to happen with BJ. Unfortunately, it's probably not going to happen.

I was waiting for the BJ Upton is back thread. Seems to pop up every month when he actually gets a hit or 2.

I just hope he doesn't play well enough to convince Frank he's our CF'er in 2015.

Except nobody has said that. At least not on this thread.

All I said was he is carrying the team in September and showing enormous amounts of grit maturity leadership and clutchness.

B.J. should give PEDs a try. Seriously.
Either he gets away with it and ascends to at the very least a level less terrible than he is today, or he gets caught and the Braves have an out to void his contract. Win/Win.

to what extent we should EXTEND an Upton is questionable at this point

For conversation sake, say he does have a very productive September then carry the team into and deep into the playoffs. Alas the new contacts give Braves the BJ that produced for the Rays.
It is not impossible - stranger things have happened (Carl Crawford)
How should they approach CF in the off season?

Let's not start giving each other BJs just yet...

Let's not. There's a better chance of Kate Upton coming into my office right now and straddling me backwards.

Then I would try to replicate those magic contact lenses and give them to every hitter.

Was there a report that he actually had a change in his contacts? I have always thought that one was one of his problems.

This is the first time he has worn contacts.
