I just finished Mass Effect 3. I was able to get the "synthetic" ending. I know people complained about the end, but I was pretty happy with that particular ending. I really liked that game.

I liked the endings.. I just didnt like how your choices from all the games combined really didnt effect too much.

I'm not as big of a gamer as I used to be...

Socom 1 and Socom 2 for the PS2 will always forever be my favorite games of all time. I've never been more hooked on a game and played it for 8-10 hours a day regularly in my life. Too bad the sequels fell short (3, 4, Combined Assault, Confrontation).

I will probably pick up Last of Us around Black Friday when the price is super cheap. I will pick up the WiiU just for the new Super Smash Bros.

Enjoyed both games. But I lose all aspect of time while paying Skyrim

I love the game. Better than Madden actually. The recruiting part of it is better than the actual game for me. I follow recruiting so I guess thats why. A guy a the michigan board does the real rostets so thats kewl.

Ill be buying the new playstation so hopefully the game is even better. Just got a n#w 60 inch tv so I cant wait to play.

One reason I love video games is because I can do whatever the hell I want to do. It's nice to take control of the Braves or Falcons and make trades and such that they can't do in real life. Like I just traded BJ Upton, Paul Maholm and Cristhian Martinez to the Royals for Alex Gordon, Tim Collins and Louis Coleman. I would cream my pants to get a hitter like Alex Gordon at the top of the Braves lineup.

Could've sworn there was already a video game thread on this board, but I guess not.

So this shall be it.

Been playing LEGO City Undercover on the Wii U as I can play it in front of the kids. It's incredible how much stuff there is in this game. It's almost intimidating how much stuff there is to do on the fairly large game map. I finished a decently lengthy story campaign (About 20 hours) doing random stuff along the way, and I had only 20% of the game completed. It's a really good game and pretty funny in spots. A good break from the typical games out there that most folks my age enjoy. A very underrated game.

Well I usually play games about as fully as possible now. I typically only buy like 3 video games a year tops anymore. I've logged probably about 100 hours in a given FIFA game, I know I logged well over 100 hours in each of the first 2 ME games. Typically I use my first go around to kind of get used to how the game functions and some of the quirks and shortcuts, then the second time around since I know the outline of the game I unlock it's secrets. Then sometimes I play it a few more times if I really enjoy it. I played Oblivion for a very long time. I'm glad most games don't have counters on them anymore, they'd probably make me depressed.

I had both at the same time, interesting. I wish they port some of those old school games to the PC. Using the emulators suck on my 64 bit system. Yes Turbo, I finally upgraded my pc from 2006 to a 2013 model. 7970 video card and a AMD 8350 processor. It is about 2000 times faster than the one I had before.

What are your favorite games that you wish had a sequel but haven't had one... yet?

1) Beyond Good and Evil - What a great game that was. Thanks Ubi for making 90 million Assassin Creed games but failing to make a sequel for this one.
2) Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem - They tried but the internet hate led to their failure
3) Okami - One of the best games of all time.

Hmm. Tricky one. Sometimes I prefer that games don't get remade or sequels cause they don't have much more story to tell.

I would agree with Beyond Good and Evil, I think they tried to make a sequel but it didn't come to fruition. Eternal Darkness is a good pick as well, but I think it's one of those that doesn't have much more of a story to tell. I would add the Jedi Knight series needing a new game, been a long time for what once a great series. I with there was a US sequel to Earthbound. I loved Earthbound. Chrono Cross should have a sequel, While not as great as Chrono Trigger, needs more. Red Dead Redemption needs a new game hopefulyl that's what Rock Star is working on after GTA V

And there needs to be an Elder Scrolls 6 and Fall Out 4 because those series rock.

I'm more from the Nintendo generation but I went undefeated in about 10 games of Joust back at a Fernley NV truck stop in the early 90's.

I just spent the last 15 hours playing Pokemon X.

1) I haven't owned a handheld gaming system of any type since 2003 (Gameboy Advance SP). Not even any of the PSP's.
2) I haven't played a Pokemon game since 2002.

Boy this game is addicting. It's much much more complicated and in-depth than I remember, but it still maintains that Pokecrack addiction.

Ever since 2002 when I started playing online games, I kind of just didn't care about handheld anymore, but man I regret not playing the previous Gens of Pokemon (Ruby/Sapphire, Black & White).

Plus it's online too! I've been so busy building up my pokemon that I haven't had time to battle anybody online yet!

I'm playing Assassin's Creed IV right now and I don't think I can pull myself away from that game. I was thinking about downloading Wii sports, but not till after I'm done with AC IV. It takes me a while to finish games. I'll let you know when I do and I'll send you my nintendo id.

How does Microsoft get away with this ****ty customer service:

According to The News Reports, they received a report from a customer who purchased the Xbox One and had to return it – that's because it turned out to be a faulty unit and they were instructed to return the unit to Microsoft... for a price.

Technically, they were given options: pay more to get your Xbox One replaced quickly or pay nothing and wait up to 14 days. As noted in the article...
“They were told that they could pay Microsoft £381 (US$621) and receive a new Xbox One within 2 days, with the fee paid being refunded if Microsoft receives the defective unit back within 14 days. The other option was to wait for a free shipping box to arrive, send the console back and wait for it to be repaired and returned, which would take a minimum of 14 days. “

Yep, $621... that's a lot of money to pay in addition to the $500 you already spent to get the console.

Technically, the money you put down for the two-day turnaround is more like a deposit than an actual fee, but it's steep and unwelcoming nonetheless – unless, of course, you have extra income to burn like that?

So you spend $500 for a product that doesn't work and Microsoft takes two weeks to replace it for free?

Thats so wrong. My buddy had his replaced. They dont charge your card for the amount, They just put a hold on your card until they get the replacement back. They dont ever actually charge your card unless you dont ship it back. I think its great they are basically loaning you a box to play while yours get fixed. How cool is that? And they couldnt just let people borrow extra boxes with covering themselves. My buddy is playing on his replacement box right now, while his gets fixed. His card hasnt been charged.

I don't like Fallout as much as Skyrim. But both are fantastic games. Just that Skyrim is probably one of my 10 favorite games of all time.

Amazon has a good trade in deal. If you trade in $20 worth of games you get an extra $20 in PS3 downloads. Their trade ins can be hit or miss but I found a couple of good trade in offers.

Any suggestions for a 360 game to tide me over until I decide which Next Gen I want to go with? I don't want to abandon XBox but Sony is pretty convincing. I just hate the controller. But anyway, I've basically beaten Skyrim about as badly as possible (sitting at level 60 right now, beat main arc, storm cloaks control skyrim, I'm head of every guild possible, I'm Thane of every hold except Falkreath which I didn't get to until I was liberating it so I can't help enough citizens) and basically now there are a few small side quests I can do (I need 2 more Daedric Artifacts to get the Oblivion Walker achievement) so my time with the game is running pretty thin. Only area I kinda glossed over is Blackreach which I guess I can do again. Anyway I'm close to done skyrim.

I'm trying to convince myself to buy FIFA 14 before it's too late, but I really just can't bring myself to spending 40 bucks on a game that's been out forever. Should have bought it back around Christmas but the reviews scared me off.

All suggestions will be considered. I'm thinking maybe BIoshock INfinite. But give me tips.

Also I no longer have XBL, so online play isn't big for me.

Origins was just nowhere near as good as Arkham City. Origins felt like Rock Steady just handed over the game engine and ideas to another company and the new company just did the exact same stuff Rock Steady had already done.

So what are some of your favorite levels in video games? I have a few that stand out to me.

- Majora's Mask - Stone Tower dungeon. The level is literally turned upside down about halfway through. Just an incredibly original and well executed level design.

- Uncharted 2 - Locomotion - Part when you have to go from the back of a moving train to the front.

- Metroid Prime - Phendrana drifts

- Resident Evil 4 - Castle

I thought it was hilarious wearing the water tonic you wouldn't drown. But yeah either water or fire temple. What used to scare me as a kid was the night time young link zombies coming out of the field. I liked the puzzles in water temple while the fire temple was great imagery.

Spirit temple used to scare me to for some reason.

Never got into the expansion packs, but The Sims is one of the most addicting games I've ever played. I was like 10-12 when I played it, hours spent playing it... then I found out about rosebud lol.

I remember the first time I had a cat burglar in the house, no alarm system. I think my brother died lol.

Picked up MLB the Show 14 for the PS4. As always its a good game. Started a RttS. Created a Closer, and and chose the Braves as my team even with Kimbrel blocking me. I figured it would be a few years before I made it to the show, and I ok with setting up for Kimbrel. But just 5 minutes ago, The Braves traded me and David carpenter to the Braves for Allen Craig. Now I am in Cards farm system.

Call of Duty is dominating the shooter genre when it's not really that fun...

Sports games are always going to sell. There's a video game I read that has a budget of about 500 million!?! WHAT THE HELL.

I would say that AAA video games have become stagnant. I mean it's all about sequels these days. And these new consoles are impressive in regards to power, but there's nothing really new about them. What you get in a PS4 you could already get with a decent gaming system. AAA gaming is very safe right now.

I think the next huge step in AAA gaming will come when they are able to use cloud storage to make games look incredibly nice. The first game company to successfully implement this in a cost effective way will have unbelievable success.

But there really is some good innovation in smaller independent games. We've seen a rebirth of the point and click games, which I personally love and lots of creative 2D games out there.

Finshed up Child of Light. Really good game. A turn based RPG. Loved the art and music in the game. The rhyming can be a bit annoying, but overall really enjoyed it for only $15.

Hardly shocking, Microsoft is in a situation where they have many pots on the stove. Windows, MS Office, Windows Mobile, Windows RT, Internet Explorer, MSN, Skype, Bing, the Surface, Servers, Cloud storage, and then the XBox to boot. Them selling off XBox gives them a potential profitability which would lead to a stock boost and be a big short term gain. The talks about this have been going on for years. Balmer was apparently a key member of keeping XBox IIRC. XBox has made money for microsoft for a long time.

If Microsoft should kill anything it's the surface and Windows RT. Let manufacturers make Win 8 tablets that are Win 8 or Win 8 based. People have not been jumping on Windows RT. With 2% of that market they're losing a miserable battle. Bing is not profitable, Surfaces are not profitable. Skype I'm 99% sure isn't profitable (though who knows) Microsoft selling off one of it's few profitable divisions would be dumb. But it would probably be better for the consumer. Imagine no more stupid live tiles, no more Bing, etc. Would be great if someone with a solid vision bought it and brought it back to the 360 glory days.

I'm on my third play though of Stick of Truth (trying to get all the friends and chinpokumon missed some of the friends last play through. and I'm still loving this game. Will probably sell it soon enough but love it for a great fun RPG. Fun being the operative word. Next up I want to do is sell my skyrim and buy the Skyrim Legendary Edition or whatever so I can unlock way more stuff

Didn't see a thread about current video games. Something about Atari and another console.

I don't play a lot. I own a PS3 that is on it's last legs. Battlefield 4 and The Show are the games I have played recently. My first year Braves franchise is nearing the trade deadline. I've had a lot of injuries so far, but am right behind the Nationals for first place. I have something like a 63-45 record right now. My lineup reflects a couple trades I made. The salaries for BJ and Uggla aren't right either. They are way under their actual deals.

Traded BJ Upton and acquired Cain and Jarrod Dyson from the Royals. Added Franklin because CJ was out for two months and Pena was stinking it up. Uggla has no trade value at all and I am going to ride his deal out at least this season. Justin was dominating until he went down for the season. So I added Heisey and got rid of Laird too.

Julio is also done for the season and Harang was released. Gus Schlosser is a dominant long relief guy and has an 8-1 record with a sub 3 ERA. My bullpen hasn't changed except Venters is in it now. All current or AAA Braves in the bullpen.

Ervin, Minor, Floyd, Wood, and Erasmo Ramirez rounds out my rotation. Ramirez was in the Franklin deal with the Mariners and I don't remember who I traded away in that deal though. Medlen and Beachy are at AAA/DL for pretty much all season. They wont pitch this season and I want to try and keep it realistic too.

Lost in the play in game in Los Angeles to the Dodgers. Kershaw was one hitting me through 5 and they were up 2-0. Then my table setters did their job. Dee Gordon hit a 2 out double and Lorenzo Cain drove him in. Freddie tied it with a double. CJ added another run scoring base hit and we are up 3-2. Brought Wood in and let him face Matt Kemp. He hit his second homer of the game. They added another run in the 8th and that was all she wrote.

They haven't had anything of any significance. Mario, Pikmin, remake of Wind Waker, and that's about it. No Kart, no Metroid, no new Zelda, no Smash Bros. When those come out the Wii U will move like hot cakes. Heck,on Gamestop right now the WiiU with mario kart is a top seller on Gamestop.

I'm probably over the summer gonna make up my mind on PS3 vs 360. Will give the 2 some time to see if any exclusives make up my mind. Probably will play the 2 a bit to see if I can get used to the PS4 controller, Hard to argue with the better graphics of the PS4 at a lower price, but if I can't play it what good do the graphics do me?

I'm gonna get a Wii U mainly for the nintendo exclusive games and with the hope someone will utilize the Wii U game pad to it's max. I feel like the Wiimote though it will miss the mark consistently.

Wii did big money because of the family fun aspect (I spent many nights playing bowling with my technologically inept parents). Wii U doesn't really have that aspect or feel to it like that, and is relying selling solely on their trademark characters.

I think they'll move a lot of units with Smash Bros, maybe not enough to overcome the huge deficit they're in right now though. Not a good time in the video game industry when Nintendo openly admits they're severely struggling, Gates open to the idea of MS selling the XB1...

PSN plus is nice, with the free games each month, but Xbox is finally getting free games with Gold next month. In the end, just get the console that suits you more. As pointed out by A List Daily, in Q1 of 2014, Candy Crush grossed more money than all Nintendo games combined. Sure, that’s easy to rationalize by saying “Well Nintendo didn’t have any big releases and Q4 is where they make all their cash,” but the fact remains, that’s a mind-blowing thing to be able to report. They’re not ahead by a small margin either, King is making 56% more money than Nintendo. King has mentioned in the past that Candy Crush generates 2/3 of their revenue, so, that game alone is beating everything Nintendo did.

That is not really news, or anything special. Mobile games are the big thing now, and pretty much everyone in the 1st world has a smart phone. Naturally, there are going to be a lot more people buying Candy Crush, and any other microtransactions that are involved with it, even if the Wii U was flying off the shelves at a Wii-like rate. And the 3DS is flying off the shelves faster than any console or handheld before it, so that should tell you that it doesn't mean anything. I'd wager that Candy Crush is grossing a lot more money than Microsoft and Sony's gaming divisions as well.

And, like you said, it's only for the first quarter of the year, where Nintendo had basically nothing. This isn't really news.

E3 thoughts? Sony's press conference lasted about 9 days. Microsoft had the best press conference I've seen in terms of production. Flawless execution of nothing but games. The games themselves were somewhat meh though.

As far as games. Assassin's creed looks good. The new Batman gameplay looked amazing. Easily the best game as far as gameplay goes, imo. When he jumps out of the batmobile and soars into the sky... Yes indeed. Witcher 3 looks good as well. Other than that it was a fairly mediocre conference as far as games go I think. Some nice looking games, but few surprises. What surprises we had are pretty far down the line of the games I'm interested in at least.

I'll buy either a PS4 or XBONE down the line. My opinion on which to buy didn't change after this conference. Still going with PS4.

Microsoft was good. Lots of games, no boring executives talking forever like Sony had. EA was lame as hell. Ubisoft was decent. Like the idea of coop for Assassins Creed.

I was surprised there was so many CG trailers. Just a heads, most of the stuff shown isnt how the game is going to look. Very excited about GTA V coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

I own both consoles, but I play my Xbone much more. Just has better games.

The game that excited me the most was crackdown, but that probably 2 years away. Same with the next Mass Effect. The Game Im looking forward to the most thats coming out this year is Dragon Age: Inquisition.

It was pretty much the same as the other ones except for the Pirate aspect. Actually had a ton of fun doing ship battles and upgrading my ship.

I've already mentioned a few times in this thread I'm waiting for Smash Bros to buy a Wii U. I mentioned it months ago, then I mentioned it when someone said Nintendo was bleeding money because Wii U wasn't selling as well as Wii was at this stage. I know many other friends who don't have a Wii U yet that will buy it when Smash Bros comes out.

My biggest worry is Nintendo makes the online environment and UI much better than Brawl.

Yes

Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword are all excellent. The handheld games have had various successes. Honestly I've never played a bad Zelda Game.

Zelda for me is up there with GTA, Diablo, Elder Scrolls etc. as one of the premium franchises out there that you can't go wrong with as long as the style is within your wheelhouse.

I love the Nintendo IPs,Nintendo makes some of the best games ever. Problem is they can only roll out so many IPs their consoles have struggled with attracting 3rd party. I think Nintendo would do well going back to making a classic console with optional controller stuff like Sony and Microsoft offer.

Also forgot to mention, Miyamoto confirmed he's working on a new Star Fox. Gets me giddy.

You guys need to go get you a Wii U mario kart bundle before the free game deal runs out. That's a pretty decent deal.

They've really improved the gamepad since it first came out. Mario Kart is pretty fun. Not sure how folks without kids will like it, but if you are a nintendo fan then you might as well get it while they're offering the free game.

Lego City undercover was a fun game as well and it's a nintendo exclusive. Highly recommend that one.

Target apparently has a special coming up where you can get it for a bit cheaper.

With the Target discount the mario kart bundle is a solid buy.

There are actually some pretty decent old nintendo games you can get with those club nintendo points. Kid Icarus 3d remake is up there right now. Plus next July you'll get a free game because you'll be elite status with your nintendo club membership since you'll have so many points.

Club nintendo is like most point systems. It's a point for each dollar. If you get a bundle then you'll have enough points essentially for at least one free game from club nintendo.. maybe two. Every month they offer 2 games for the Wii U and 2 games for the 3ds. So you spend your points on those games or nintendo gear. Plus you get a free game next July if you earn enough points to become an "elite member"... no points at all needed to download a free game. which you'll almost certainly earn by then. These are old games like Super Metroid or Link to the Past. So don't expect anything new. With that in mind the old games are typically pretty decent ones. I've played Super Metroid a couple of times since downloading it.

Deluxe Digital promotion is ten points per dollar for any digital game you buy. 500 points = 5$ off the nintendo Eshop. The free game counts toward this so you essentially get 5 bucks off the eshop as well. Use this when nintendo offers a decent special or to buy a cheaper independent game.

Well, Wind Waker is a really good game. So, I'd take a shot at it since it's free. I'd wager that you'd really enjoy the series.

It's not the best Zelda though. That title belongs to A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. The former is on the Virtual Console for 8 bucks and I absolutely cannot recommend that game enough.

Errrr...See, this why I need to get my computer fixed. I need a new motherboard and can't afford it. I really want to play through Witcher 2 before the third comes out. I have the original and liked it, but I hated how they repeatedly reused assets and that the game took so long to get going.

Similar to Skyrim, but better. Better story, combat is challenging. One of my favorite RPGs, and very much looking forward to the third one. Its a open world isnt as vast.

The only thing so far is Shigeru Miyamoto and Shinya Takahashi, heads of Nintendo's internal development teams, have said the minecraft is a really good fit for the Wii U. So I think it will be coming eventually. The game sells like crazy. No reason not to bring to the Wii u.

But nothing confirmed yet.

Not really like TES games (which I love); it's much more story driven and the combat is... less straightforward, I guess I would say. Like Cy, Witcher has some sandboxy elements, but it's not in the same ballpark as Skyrim. I'm not super far into the game yet, but it's got some unique-ish elements compared to the standard hack/slash RPGs.

But it is definitely not like Zelda. There are like titties (no mustard... yet) and bad words. It's all gritty and stuff. The game has personality. I never really got personality from the Zelda games I've played.

I don't actively dislike Zelda. I'll play the games from time to time, but they don't capture my attention like they seem to do for so many, and so I've never actually gotten to the end. In general, I don't really connect with the whole Nintendo aesthetic, I guess. Everything always seems so... wholesome? I ain't got time for wholesome. I haven't had a Nintendo console since the N64 since none of their flagship titles really do it for me.

For perspective, here's the games I've put any actual time into and enjoyed during the last year or so:

Skyrim
Fallout NV
Civ 5
Witcher 2
Torchlight 2 (Diablo-style clicker; great for turn-off-your-brain, adventure killing, but gets old after awhile; didn't finish, as the story was basically nonexistent; maybe one day)

I've always appreciated the zelda games but like meta they never were games I went out of my way to play. Ocarina was probably my first open world game I've ever played. The zombies that would walk out in Hyrule Field when you're young link would scare me...

Errrr...See, this why I need to get my computer fixed. I need a new motherboard and can't afford it. I really want to play through Witcher 2 before the third comes out. I have the original and liked it, but I hated how they repeatedly reused assets and that the game took so long to get going.

Never played 1; kinda read some stuff that led me to believe I'd be better off jumping into 2, and there is a prequel video to catch you up; #2 definitely takes a little bit to get going; there's kind of a lame tutorial quest about the control system and then a prologue that takes awhile. But I think they are kind of necessary to help you ease into the game proper.

Just finished the John Marston segment of Red Dead Redemption (pretty much the main game). Man, what an incredible game. The only reason I just got around to playing it is because I was waiting for it to eventually come to PC, like every other Rockstar game. For some reason it never did though, and I remember reading a quote not too long ago from Rockstar saying that they had no plans to do so. Anyway, it's a great game. It's probably tied with LA Noire for my 2nd favorite Rockstar game after the original Max Payne.

And Meta, Zelda games have all of the personality in the world. And Nintendo games are about being video games, not interactive movies. They get accused of not telling stories, but they do. They just usually do it through gameplay instead of dialogue and cutscenes. Not that there is anything wrong at all with the latter (see the previous paragraph), but that's one of the reasons why Nintendo is my favorite game company. They just make games, and they're fun as hell.

P.S. Nintendo has plenty of games that are more mature-oriented than Mario and Zelda (although Zelda often straddles that line, See: Majora's Mask).

Well, yeah I can't argue with main characters not being cardboard cutouts. But, that's mostly because Link is just the avatar for the player. The side characters you meet are certainly more interesting though. And I'm really talking about the world in general having a lot of character, since that's what it's really about.

Yeah I would say that starting with Majora's Mask Nintendo stepped up the game on the story and characters in Zelda... moreso the story.

Still though nintendo is always going to build games on gameplay first and sort of create a story that fits in with that gameplay. There are some good story driven games on recent nintendo platforms, but they aren't made by nintendo, just published by nintendo.

Yeah, I forgot about the ending until you brought it up. But the story up til that point was good.

The Fire Emblem and the Mother (Earthbound) series are both story driven and made by Nintendo.

Earthbound is top 5 videogames of all time for me. With Skyrim, Mario 3, Super Metroid, and Chrono Trigger.

Needless ot say I love my SNES ports.

It's pretty good. Not a huge fan of the combat system, but there's something about the psychedlic backgrounds that has a lot of charm. The writing is very witty and while the story is about a bunch of kids, it has pretty mature undertones.

Also, I probably have the most powerful pc on our forum, but I don't play any games except one, WOW and even if I play that it is rare. I used to play games all the time, but watching my kids growing up and reading books form Fanfiction.net, I find myself getting away from games. The kids play the Wii but the wife and I refuse to play with them, they are sore losers both of them if they are losing and drama is really high.

I might start Mass Effect this fall when it gets cooler. I have all three and I have all of Bethesda games, Fallout and Skyrim, and Origins.

Might as well wait till Christmas season now to see what Nintendo comes up with. Certainly will be well worth a buy at that point with Smash Bros and Bayonetta 2 out.

I'm really hoping for some Nintendo HD remakes in the first half of 2015. Metroid Prime Trilogy HD, Zelda Twilight Princess HD, Mario Galaxy one and two and Skyward Sword HD are all three games that need to happen. Nintendo had some success with Wind Waker so they'd be dumb not to.

I usually wind up waiting til closer to christmas as that's when videogame systems tend to drop or come out with mega bundles or new tech. Remember the Rumble Pack launched around that time of year. Not to mention the enhancer thing or whatever came with Donkey Kong 64.

I'd love it if they did a remastering of Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask. With modern graphics it'd be insane just for the water and fire temples.

I loved the OG> I loved the missingno hack, that I then used for unlimited masterballs and level up, so I can get all the special pokemon, and level them up to 155. I also had a legit Mew, not just the Game Genie one.

Had no idea that the Super Smash Bros Wii U game coming out also has a bundle available with gamecube controller and Wii U gamecube controller adapter lol.

Genius of Nintendo because the best and only way to play Smash Bros was with a gamecube controller. These gamecube controllers are going to sell like hotcakes, because I know at least 10-15 people who haven't bought a Wii U yet, that are going to buy one specifically for this game. Super Smash Bros might be make or break for Nintendo, so I hope their online interface this go around is smoother than Brawl and better.

I just need to spend 20 to get both of my remotes adapters. The kicker is I found my old Wavebird, but not the receiver :Sad:

Wii U has more potential than I ever thought.

Friends have told me the Wii U had a better all-around game lineup than PS4/XB1, just thought it was a bit rubbish. But now I can't wait to go get DK, Hyrule Warrior, Windwaker HD, New Super Mario Bros U, Mario Kart, and Smash of course.

I used to play Socom online for PS2 (and PS3) in it's heyday. Played a little bit CS source for a while, but the cookie cutter CoD and Battlefield shooters have left a lot to be desired. Nothing will ever recapture the magic I had for Socom, so it seems going back to my old roots with Nintendo should do the trick.

I've been playing Super Mario 3D Land a lot the last 2 days since I installed the Wii U. Can't believe I actually was looking forward to going home and playing a Mario game at this age, at work.

If only they brought Gamecube games to the eshop. I'd love to revisit Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, and others like Metroid Prime. Actually, a Luigi's Mansion HD remake, an Ocarina of Time HD remake, and a Metroid Prime HD remake would be spectacular.

Agreed. I felt years ago when I started playing shooting games that I "grew" out of the Nintendo stuff sans Smash Bros... now I regret not playing the Mario Galaxy's, Twilight Princess, and other first party titles for many years. Pokemon X last year on 3DS was the first time I bought or played a Nintendo software/hardware item since I had a Wii in 2008 and it got stolen not even a month and a half after getting it solely for Super Smash.

Yeah, the issue with Nintendo systems has been 3rd party support. I hope the Wii U is more open with the indie developers who I think can get creative with the controller and make some really fun and creative games with it.

There are some awesome things for Super Mario 3D World that require the Gamepad. Tilting it in a certain way will change the map or camera. One fun one was blowing air at the mic and it made a gust of wind on the screen. lol

I was gonna buy it but Best Buy didn't have it.

Matter a fact, their selection of Wii U games were awful. They had like 20 copies of Just Dance 2014, 2 copies of Hyrule Warrior, 2 copies of Windwaker HD, zero copies of Super Mario World 3D. 1 copy of DK Country Freeze.
