Two things remember, Reed tweaked his achillies and had to come out of last night's game, so he's probably not available and there is a lefty on the mound, so it wouldn't be Constanza and secondly, yes, CJ has hit 5th several times this year.

Poor Laird.

Gattis has a terrible all-around game last night, and he still can't get in a start at catcher. LOL

That was not Dan Schulman last night, he was on vacation. Former Braves broadcaster Dave O'Brien was doing the game last night.

I fear even if he hits 8th and they try to pitch around him to get to the pitcher, that he will strike out.

I don't intentionally walk anyone with no one on in the second inning. Then of course the pitcher bunts and a runner is in scoring position for the top of the order.

The pitcher cannot bunt with two outs. The object is to get the 8th hole hitter. If you do the inning is basically over unless a good hitting pitcher. De La Rosa is a bad hitting pitcher though. I was keeping that in mind.

Also, I didn't say walk him till it became a 3-2 count.

I'm not real worried. Like I said, this is a tough lineup to pitch against when you've been out of MLB for over a year because of injury. What I wanted to see tonight is how hard he is throwing. Happy to see his velocity in the 90-92 range. Big thing is how he feels after the game and tomorrow. If he feels good, that is going to be more important than the results tonight.

It's nice to be up 8+ games and be able to almost play this as a spring game. Not saying they're not trying to win...but this just felt like a "lets see how Brandon feels" type of game.

Disappointing that Beachy is getting rocked. But I don't think it would kill our offense to score 6-7 runs.

I just don't see how anybody says he isn't ready. This is expected his first game back. I'm actually liking the fact that his velocity is decent and has been getting a few K's. Every outing he will continue to get sharper.

I am just going by all the conversation about how long it takes for guys to make it all the way back. It's usually closer to 18 months. I'm not saying he's not serviceable, but we're trying to win a championship and we better go get one more starter.
