Braxton with a .390 OBP now. The guy has elite plate discipline. If he can start displaying some power now then we might have a hitter on our hands.

Is that OBP coming at the expense of strikeouts? Will he be able to hit when pitchers have more control?

He's showing more power than last year... Already has like 3 or 4 homers (I'm too lazy to look at the stats)

Probably both. Walks and strikeouts have a really strong correlation... More pitches = more walks = more strikeouts. I will gladly substitute more strikeouts for higher OBP if that's what you are asking.

The good news is that he's not completely overmatched at the plate with his .250 BA.

ISO of .120. So decent power. Needs to be a bit higher, but granted he's 18. I would like to see more doubles.

I guess it wasn't a day at the Beech for Charleston.

Two straight good outings for Caleb - yet another unheralded and interesting arm to keep an eye on. Was impressed with him when I saw him in Asheville last week. Nothing that really jumps out and screams at you other than his demeanor - really stays within himself and always seems in control.

I checked on in on the early game to see how Wisler did, and I was amazed to find that Mike freaking Hessman is still playing for Toledo.
