What happened to Juan Yepez... the 16 year old kid we signed from Venezuela last year who was hyped up a bit? Is he in some kind of instructional league?

Looks like Wisler pitched on okay game today, though he gave up 4 runs. 38 Ks and only 9 BBs in 45 IP on the season is pretty good stuff and better than his 4.40 ERA would suggest.

Will get assigned to the DSL or GCL.

Excited to see if he can develop... he has a great frame for such a young guy.

Mallex Smith helped Mississippi win 5-2 driving in two runs in their four run 9th inning tonight. He didn't start but came on as a pinch runner later in the game, he stole two bases too which is good to see as he hadn't been trying to steal much since that foot injury. Hopefully that is a sign that he's finally over it and will be back to his old self (stealing a lot of bases in other words). Further, Rio Ruiz has showed some life lately including tonight, he was 1-2 with two walks so on base three times tonight. Hopefully he is starting to turn his season around.

I was following along at arm's length and was resigned to four 1-run losses. But lo and behold, Mississippi comes through.
