Really excited to see Caicedo used as a starter - he's another one of those "under the radar" guys I've been keeping an eye on.

Moylan sent to AAA. They scrapped the idea of him being a player/coach at Danville because he was pitching so well in extended spring training. Really hope he continues his remarkably strong comeback and can get back in the Braves' pen.

Wow. That tells me I was wrong when I thought DOB was kidding the other day about him being nearly ready.

Yeah, I had the same reaction. I just assumed he was done. It would be sweet to see him back in the bigs… And we desperately need some help in the 'pen.

Dustin Peterson is finally back and playing for Carolina again.

@BravesMILB
Big game tonight as @dPetey8 makes his return. Was hitting .314/.392/.448 with 3HR and 14RBI before the bus crash landed him on the DL

Great to hear Moylan is back. Anytime you can infuse a personality like his in the clubhouse, it only does good things. Plus he's funny as hell. We might as well bring back Will Ohman while we're at it.

Time to starting learning about Randy Ventura. CF was 5-5 in SBs Monday, had two hits and a sacrifice.

He's a 17-year-old Dominican (18 in July), a switch-hitter but another mighty mite at 5-9, 165. Signed in mid-February

Late signing. Batting leadoff and playing center. Age, spot in the order and defensive position suggest he is one to keep an eye on.

New offensive strategy, small players small strike zones more walks.

BA insider article about Rome Braves 3B Jordan Edgerton . Anyone got insider and can share the cliff notes?

Most interesting paragraphs were these:

“I feel good,” said Edgerton, 21. “I’m just trying to take it one at-bat at a time. I don’t pay attention to any of the numbers and that kind of stuff. I just try to maintain a short swing, hit the ball hard and hope it finds a hole somewhere.”

Undrafted out of South Point High in Mount Holly, N.C., Edgerton blossomed during his three seasons at UNC Pembroke. He earned D-II all-America honors as both a sophomore (.392/.419/.592) and junior (.369/.429/.608).

“My body developed a lot while I was there,” Edgerton said. “I gained about 15 pounds my sophomore year, really worked on my approach and got a lot better. I guess I was a late bloomer.”

Edgerton has excellent hand-eye coordination and the ball jumps off his bat, even though he hit just three home runs in his first 101 pro games. He possesses soft hands and good arm strength at third base, and he has the athleticism to play an outfield corner should a need arise.

I rated him #27 on my Top 30 Prospects list, which prompted an outcry from Braves1976.

And two hits for Ruiz, who obviously dug a pretty big hole for himself with his start to the season. He's one I really hope gets it turned around.

Seems like he may be getting something going of late? Maybe? Hopefully.

His stats would suggest that he's not totally overmatched. Very good walk rate and he's not striking out a lot. Probably getting acclimated to the league.

It's also important to remember he started the season as a 20 year old.

The BABIP will normalize eventually. The only concern is his Markakisian ISO. That was his only concern as a hitter was whether he would develop the power requisite to carry his average glove at 3B.

I want to find this persuasive...so I do!
