Jake Brigham is not on any of the Braves' hot prospects lists, but the journeyman had the game of her life Thursday with a nine-inning one-hiitter, winning 8-1 and losing the no-hitter and a perfect game with none out in the ninth and the shutout one out later. He struck out 10 and walked zero.

From MILB:
Braves SS Ozhaino Albies, Class A Rome: 4-for-4, R, BB -- Albies ran his hit streak up to 10 games and lifted his average to .313 in 52 South Atlantic League games. Just 18, Albies is among the youngest players in the full-season Minor Leagues and also one of the most productive. The 5-foot-9 infielder is putting together quality at-bats, making a ton of contact and impacting the game on the bases and in the field, too. The Curacao native is an exciting player with an upbeat style of play Braves fans are likely to love.

NOTE: For Carolina, pitchers Tyler Brosius, Caleb Dirks, Steve Janas, David Peterson, Lucas Sims and Andrew Thurman remain on the DL following bus wreck. Beginning to think this was a disaster for the farm system; that accounts for nine of the team's 23 wins. No position players remain on the DL.

Ruiz has started to come around a bit. 7-20 over his last 7 games with several doubles and 5 BB. He's still only hitting .190, but it's good to see some signs of life. His OBP is now .318.

Davidson has been hitting pretty consistently lately. I think it's only a matter of time before he really breaks out.

Eric Garcia isn't on any prospect lists either, but he sure has had a strong first half at both his stops (Carolina and Mississippi). LHH infielder who can play SS. A guy like that might find his way to the bigs if he shows he can hit.

Jorge Zavala continues to impress. Hasn't given up a run in four appearances since his promotion to Carolina. Only gave up one earned run in 12.1 IP earlier in the season while playing in Rome.

Agree on both... But fingers crossed on Ruiz.
