We really needed Cunningham or Terd in this series. We have two guys in the lineup tonight that struggle against RH pitching.

Well, other than his having no range, iron hands, getting poor jumps, and his inaccurate arm, what exactly is your beef with his defense?

It's also funny that we sign Gomes who everyone knows is a DH-type, yet in a game where we have the DH available we DH a good defensive LFer and play the DH in the field. I can't make this stuff up.

Alex White started tonight for Gwinnett and pitched 5 scoreless innings. I wonder if the Braves are considering him to replace Folty if he keeps struggling. Marty Reed said not long ago that Wisler likely needs to stay in AAA the full year (said that was his opinion anyway). Plus Man-Ban is a on pitch count limit so might be Braves stretching out White just in case.

Same, gonna be hard to realistically upgrade 3B next year over Uribe.

LF and C is where Hart needs to look at this winter.

Obviously thats the biggest concern, with any decent pen we're in 1st by 2-4 games.

Not exactly sure what they can do there.

They do have some internal options with Viz, Withrow, Simmons, McKirahan, and others.

But need to use some money on some reliable BP arms.

Given the way our BP is floundering, I wish we'd start getting those "internal options" to the major leagues sooner rather than later. What's worse than what we're currently seeing?

This team needs more groundball pitchers, more like Miller and Perez who make use of sinkers and have good ones. We have a great infield up the middle and solid at both corners too minus CJ. So make use of that.

However, I am afraid we won't have as great defense for a while after tonight. I think Simmons is hurt.

Yea, that is true too. I figure if Peraza came up he'd play second and Peterson would move to short. But then again they probably don't want to mess with Peterson by moving him. If so then Castro may get the call over Peraza as you say.

You were right on Wandy, '76. He's one of those guys whose charms aren't obvious until you've left him in your rotation for a month and he's given you 40 solid innings and kept you in all six games he started. The whole theme of the night was baseball in Curacao/Aruba featuring Bogaerts and Simmons, so they had interviews with both of them, and a live interview with Andruw. They went down to Curacao and interviewed people down there that knew them both. It was actually pretty good what I saw. I usually expect a ESPN game with the Sox to be a homer Sox game. They asked Andruw who his favorite CF's are right now (defensively) and he said Adam Jones and McCutcheon.
