Our sitting president just did an interview of WTF with Marc Maron in Maron's garage. Obama wanted to talk about getting young people more engaged in politics. Very cool. No script. No pre-approved list of questions and topics. "No, no. He’s a big boy. He’s the president. I’m pretty sure he’s confident he can handle himself with me." - Marc
The presidential episode of WTF comes out Monday.

The podcast is up and it's FREE. It's so amazing that this was able to happen. The conversation was relaxed and very candid and Maron of course was even more nervous and spastic than usual. In his garage!

Anyone offended by him saying that word is nuts.
From the interview: "The trajectory of progress always happens in fits and starts. And you've got these big legacy systems that you have to wrestle with and you have to balance what you want and where you're going with what is and what has been."

I don't care that he said it.
But am curious... if a white President, in the exact same context said it, would it be a big deal?

Depending if it is an R or D by their name.

It would be a huge deal, but still just as misguided. In talking about the issue the word just comes up. I'm proud of him for showing us that.

You kidding me? We all know what would happen if a white President said it. The outcry and claims that the President is racist would be insane...if it were a Republican. A Democrap wouldn't have near the amount of backlash, but still suffer a bit.

Depends who it was and the context

No you are kidding yourself. Insert any white person (Republican) in the same context as Obama. We know the result.

Susan Collins - John Huntsman ? Gary Johnson
I wonder if used in the context used by Obama Rand Paul couldn't pull it off

I feel bad for Don Lemon. His heart is in the right place. all he wants to do is to have his fellow blacks improve their lives and they just **** on him.
