Why, why, why would both Gomes and CJ be ahead of Uribe? He should be the four hitter. If not AJ.

Agreed, seems a 4th grader could make out a better lineup. Johnny Gomes batting cleanup? Bahahahaha

Two things:

Last night was great, but back to reality tonight. I knew when Gomes was hitting cleanup that we were in serious trouble. Someone really should tell fredi that Gomes hits less than .250 against lhp and that's not near good enough to put him in lf

Serious question... Have we won a game all year with CJ and Gomes both starting? I'm sure we probably have, but it seems we really suck lately with that combo.

I'd like to know what our record is with Gomes starting this year

Every situation different. Those guys are older. Folty click was started. Pitchers need to get their lumps early.

Peraza just isn't that good.

Despite a really cold start and cold now Peterson isn't that far off peraza for season numbers. And Peterson is in the majors. And Peterson has more pop off the top of my head.

I'm not saying Peterson should hit first or is our long term answer at 2b. But peraza isn't exactly a kris Bryant. He's not making an appreciable difference in this team.

We need him at Ss an leading a package for a bat

No he's not a Kris Bryant but he's still worth calling up.

Why trade him before seeing what he can do in the big leagues?

It's not exactly like he's kris Bryant either.

Take a look at those last 30 games' stats. You don't think peraza could do better than that? I think he could and he'd add base stealing threat

Fair points. But let's not pretend Peraza's lighting the world on fire in AAA. Yes he's very young for the level but Jace deserves more time. Even with Jace now down to .249 he still has a higher OBP then Peraza in AAA with a lot more XBH's and better defense.

Jace Peterson doesn't use slugging percentage though. He prefers Struggling percentage.

Peraza is not yet a finished product. He is a 21 year old having a decent but not great season in AAA. We just waste service time calling these guys up when they aren't ready. We did it with Bethancourt.

It's not fair to call Peterson a finished product yet either. My guess would be that Peraza has more upside. I'd use whichever could net the best return as part of a package for a hitter with some pop.

I agree that Peterson still has some room for growth. Everyone wants hitters with some pop. I think both Peterson and Peraza have the potential to develop some power. I wouldn't actively look to move either of them. Of course, if some other team makes a fantastic offer for one of them, I'm fine with moving them. But that's true of every player we have.
