Markakis is going to start swinging for the fences and go into a slump now. Hope we can capitalize on his power surge and flip him for a couple top prospects before that happens.

Because its true. You can't understate the impact of not being able to take care your body and build on your strength. Nick couldn't do anything because of the surgery. I think he is going to be a really good offensive player next year. Basically similar numbers all around with more power.

I think Alex Wood is on the verge of becoming a special pitcher. His stuff was mediocre to average tonight, but he adjusted and found a way to get some outs. I love his competitiveness and character. You don't see many 24 year old pitchers adjusting the way he did and doing well when the stuff isn't there.

He beat the Mets and Matt Harvey on a Sunday afternoon (June 21st) by throwing 7 shutout innings, giving up only 1 hit and striking out 5.

By the way, hope I didn't come across as an ass earlier -I certainly wasn't trying to be- but I felt strongly that with the stuff Alex had and the amount of baserunners (walks especially) he was giving up that a move needed to be made. He was able to get through that inning and one more and ended up throwing a decent game so all is well.

I should've clarified... The day starts i was referring to are the midweek ones. I know Teheran's first bad start of the year was a midweek day game vs mets and it seems there's been more. Can't remember this early

On 2nd part... I don't let this stuff get me upset. I didn't feel comfortable with wood either. Just glad he got it done
