It is stupid to take a rb top 3 in the first place. This seems like an attempt to tank so they can draft Teddy Bridgewater. I know Clowney is a big deal but he isn't going to turn around a team like a franchise Qb can.

I still think the jags win the Bridgewater sweepatakes though. Browns probably take the next besy qb and he turns into another massive bust.

I'll laugh if Bridgewater is taken 1st overall if he's even the 1st Qb taken overall. Watching vs Kentucky he didn't impress me at all. Got pressured a lot made a lot of bad throws when he was pressured. Sure it's just 1 game, but the Kentucky defense was by far the best he's seen so far and he struggled a good bit.

I've been way more impressed with Tajh Boyd so far.

Man, really disappointed in Aldon Smith. If the charges/accusations are true on this DUI.. man, putting others in jeopardy like that. Damn.

The charges on he and Delanie Walker at the party, I can ignore, because those are speculation and highly hearsay for the most part... but, this... is rough. Not good, man.

Totally agree, Brady is one of the top 3 best ever, has maybe a few years left, brought the franchise to prominence and this is how they reward him? lets also not forget the biggest thing, taking less money and restructuring(he makes 1 million this year) so they can make the team better. They still have 14.5 million in Cap, well done Belidick/Kraft

Welker didn't want to go back because Belichick is a dick.

That is true. A lot of people think we just low balled him, we didn't. He didn't like BB. The personnel problems started when the GM left and BB took his job. Before, Pioli would challenge BB and help make decisions. There is nobody left to do that. Sure we have gotten lucky in the draft a few times since he left(gronk, Ridley, mayo) but other than that it has been a disgrace in my eyes. He has this obsession with Rutgers University(whose football team sucks) and at one time this year we had 14 of the 21 Rutgers players in the league,on our team. There are only 2 good Rutgers players in the league, Ray Rice and Kenny Britt(when he isn't in trouble) yet BB still keeps signing them. He is a frickin moron

I think the young guys will be better as the season goes on. One thing I will say is that I have never seen Brady have multiple guys who can get separation deep. If gronk can stay healthy(big if) and Amendola aka "Glass Danny" can get on the field, we will be good later on. The defense has played fine but then again Geno Smith and EJ Manuel are not exactly Brees/ Manning. I think they will be ok today since Freeman is awful but next week at Ryan will be a real test

Yeah I agree. I knew it'd be tough with the injuries, but at some point you've got to finish games, and you've got to finish drives. Still a ton of tough games to get through. At this point, I'd be thrilled with 10-6 and a WC berth. I didn't even think we'd win much more than 10 games before the injuries.

It isn't an excuse for the L, it is a fact of the game that has impacted them greatly as to why we are seeing the outcomes we are. Who expects to beat a good team on the road with 36% of their starting lineup on IR (Vegas didn't)? They don't have a AAA affiliate to draw from and call up seasoned players. They have 6 injured starters on Offense. Just lost 2 starters more on D, including their best defensive player. Samuel (their best corner just came back). They have UDFA rookies starting. They will get better, but they were better for 55 minutes than a team that is now 3-0. The world is not ending, but they aren't going to win 13 games and steamroll the division this year with all that. They will hopefully get to 9 or 10 wins and be in the hunt for a WC. It is just reality with those injuries.

The Saints beat us at home in a close game, and played the Cards and someone else not worth a **** (Tampa!). Lets not go anoiting them SB champs just yet. Make em play some tough teams first. They are taking care of business though as expected. The Saints also didn't lose Graham or a guy named Brees, so they will be fine. Brees is in another world out there.

Saints have lost Will Smith, PRob, Vilma, Victor Butler, as well as some other players on defense.

And no **** they haven't, Falcons didnt lose TonyG or Julio, or Ryan.

Falcons could easily be 3-0, I'm not sure they only win 9-10 but like the Niners, can't get into too big of a hole.

Regards to the Saints, you're right, next 3 games, vs Mia, and at Chi and NE will tell how good they are.

Other teams have suffered a ton of injuries too, so I don't see the excuse for it.

Like I said, against a good team they had 36% of their starting lineup on IR. They were the better team for 55 minutes. Not sure what you want me to tell you, but in the NFL...that happens. Welcome to the NFL, but you have to adjust expectations when your guys go down. There aren't just replacement players sitting at home waiting on a chance. The quality decreases with every injury in 90% of cases.

none of those players you listed hurt for Nola even equal Spoon's loss either.

Reality needs to set in with you. Falcons are thin, and don't have quality backups. Peyton Manning could blast teams in the face without a center, but the one they have is playing good ball. That is a quality replacement level player. There aren't those just knocking on the dome door.

I'm not worried. 49ers just need to make the palyoffs and I'm sure they will. Then they hopefully will have a healthy Crabtree/Davis/Manningham to go along with a motivated SOBER Smith. Kaep has hit a rough patch but right now his options are extremely limited. He will be fine and I still feel the same way about his future.

2013 - 6.17 M

Seems like the NFL's goal is to bankroll their lawsuit with fines to players. Hopefully the NFLPA sees this trend and fights the NFL next time around. They're taking way too much money from the players while reaping the benefits.

Chiefs are pretty damned loaded. Charles is a great back, Bowe is a great WR, and their options after them are pretty good as well. Adding Smith and Reid was more or less what they needed. Not gonna say it's a direct comparison since Brees and Ryan are way better than Smith but it's not too distant than when Brees/Peyton or Ryan/Smith joined their teams that were not good before they got there. A good coach and a good (or at least competent) QB make a huge difference.

And there it is. Smith is a good QB. Not top 10 but he is damn good.

Never said Smith was bad. I thought you overrated him, but he's what Reid and the Chiefs need. Someone who moves the ball when needed and doesn't make mistakes. Chiefs don't need a playmaker on their team to win. They have talent on the offensive and defensive side, they were burned last year because Cassel and Quinn were impotent. And Crenel isn't a good head coach. Replacing the 2 biggest holes with solid pieces is never bad.

Yeah, Smith is solid. People think if a QB isn't Peyton or Tom that they suck. Like people around me say Romo sucks. How the hell does Romo suck? Dude puts up numbers year in and year out.

I never called Smith a top 10 QB. He is what I said he is in that next tier of 10. The debate is where he is in that next 10. Most of you made him out to be a bottom third QB last year. He had a great year last year.

Texans are taking the Seahawks behind the shed right now. And I'm glad. Need Seattle to lose some games so the Falcons don't have to go there after a bye.

Well I think thethe was more going for perfect that could be reasonably acquired. I'm sure Peyton, Brees, Brady, Ryan, etc. would be better than Smith but those guys are going nowhere anytime soon.

Ravens are awful. Bills are improved too.

Ravens weren't very good last year, they got hot at the right time. Then they gutted their team sending off their number 1 WR and half the defense. They were gonna suck this year unless Flacco actually became a great QB. And that obviously hasn't happened.

Well, I was totally wrong about one thing going into this season. I thought for sure the Giants would win the NFC East. But they're about as eliminated as you possibly can be. Only good thing for them is that the division leader may be 2-2 so they're only 2 games out if SD wins.

NinersSBChamps

The Texans need a quarterback. They have weapons and a good defense. Schaub is really holding that team back. Going to be really tough for anyone to overtake Seattle in the NFC now.

Another Denver blowout. Wake me up when they actually play a team with a pulse.
The only 'tough' games they have in the regular season are the 2 against the Chiefs (surprisingly), and games against the Colts, Pats and Texans... but... the only challenge I see after these first four weeks for the Broncos might be the Colts game... even then, I don't know.

The only team I could see beating them would be the Seahawks, only if the game could be played in Seattle (this hurts saying as a Niners fan) and even then I am not sure if the Broncos would lose ... the Broncos look that unstoppable right now.
