He just needs more time

Yeah, I'm just impatient. Thought he'd hit at our lowest levels of the minors.

Dustin Peterson 2-3, grand slam

I'm not worried about Olivera's offense at all, but the errors are certainly a concern. I've got him with 7 errors in 22 games now in the minors. That's a pretty big number right there.

There's no doubt that the errors are a concern. If he is not at least average defensively, he's going to have to really hit for him to have much value. Hopefully it's just rust.

Awesome to see from Peterson, though. 8 for his last 17 with a HR in back to back games is great after he had struggled since coming off the DL after the bus crash.

Also great to see, he's been awesome since the trade. 4 of his last 5 outs recorded came via K.

The fact that Olivera is struggling both offensively and defensively in the low minors, and with Bird going to the DL, the Wood/Peraza trade just continues to get worse.

This is pretty short sighted.

I wasn't a fan of the deal in any way, and still am not. I guess I was hoping to at least see some poSitive play from Olivera. Probably small sample at this point, and as a Braves fan, I hope this changes and he ends up the middle of the order bat we need. You are probably correct in my reflection being short sighted based on sample size, but my opinion is still rooted deeper more so because of my disagreement of the deal. I was a huge Peraza fan and still can't understand his inclusion. Hopefully, again, Olivera gets going and can provide 4-5 years of solid production.

Went back to watch Olivera's error. He bounced a throw to 1B but Freddie makes that play 999 out of 1000 times. Really starting to understand why Freeman gets so much praise for his ability to scoop everything thrown at 1B.

Comment From Blerg
Saw you had Ozzie Albies at #12. What present or future major leaguer(s) would you compare him to?

1:08 Kiley McDaniel: There isn’t a comp, but there’s elements of Furcal and Lindor and Luis Castillo. Take the best from each of those and you get the idea.

Sounds like some in the Braves org have soured on Peraza a bit, how do you view him at this point?

1:11 Kiley McDaniel: 50 FV, solid, MLB-ready player with clear shortcomings he’s never really addressed

1:11 Comment From Pasty Guy in Atlanta
Oh…. this is awkward

1:11 Comment From Matt
Allard, Soroka, and Riley are a heck of a first round haul for Atlanta. Do they have each have a shot at a future top-100/200 list?

1:12 Kiley McDaniel: Sure. Allard will be in a nice spot this year if he stays healthy. The other two probably need a good 2016 to get into a nice spot on the list

I like Peraza as well, but honestly finding MI prospects who have a slick glove and speed, but can't draw a walk or hit for power is not hard to do. There have been plenty who have come and gone over the years.
