No Olivera or Bethancourt at Gwinnett today. Hopefully both will be in Atlanta tomorrow.

One run allowed for Lucas Sims through 4 IP. More importantly, 1 BB/ 7 K.

It's good to see Ruiz hit a homer. Riley continues to be a beast as well.

I've always said that Sims has the stuff if he can match the adjustments. Thethe has been in his corner from day one. If he can continue to limit his walks, his upside is still tremendous.

Grosser has been destroyed of late. Not just ineffective, but just downright abysmal

Sims seems to have really turned a page since his promotion to Mississippi, finally looks like he's on the threshold of putting it all together.

I hope Sims keeps it up! I had so much faith in him coming up.

This will be the key. If he can get his walks down and control his stuff better he's a TOR pitcher. If he continues as he has for the past two years with the high walk totals he's likely a bottom of the rotation type or a reliever. Hopefully he gets it together, but this is the first game he hasn't had really high walk numbers since he went to Miss. Maybe it starts a trend.

No surprise. I was never really concerned about Sims like others here.

What's the story on Sims? He's giving me that Teheran vibe. Where suddenly he just becomes as good as everyone says he is going to be.

It's such a common answer it's almost a cliche. Remember he missed more than month due to the bus wreck. What he had a chance to work on, or figure out, is a good question.

I'd just have to say you have big ba..z because I've seen him a lot and he was getting shelled. Usually one inning and it affected him the rest of the game. Look at his games if you don't believe me. I've followed him since Rome mostly, and he was always a great arm, great in uniform and then...BAM, the inning. What he's doing now is impressive. I am a fan, but I can't say I thought he'd do what he's doing now UNLESS, he got the Smoltz doctor dude giving him the magic dust!

I think that's one of the more difficult things for young pitchers to deal with; learning to stop the bleeding and get out of a potentially big inning for the opposition.

I remember some were down on Sims when the Braves had him start the season in High A again, but the minor league staff tends to know what it is doing.
