Rome is the only team in the system with a really bad W/L and I'm glad to see we haven't had any what I would call utter disasters from any of our teams from that perspective this year. W/L is secondary to player development, but I think we've got a nice set of guys in the system now (especially in A and Rookie Ball) who could develop into something.

If I had it in my power, I would have eyes and ears in the Instructional League camp every day to update what is going on. I wonder if we will know when or if any of the TJ surgery guys begin throwing, or facing live hitting.

Also, who the Braves might move aggressively up the chain to challenge.

When do the instructs start and does anyone even cover them anymore? I'm so old, I remember when the Instructional League was a pretty big deal and The Sporting News published statistics and weekly updates.

Heck, there are probably members of this board who are asking, "What is the Sporting News?"

That was my weekly ritual; to delve into The Sporting News and darn near memorize it. I still think they do season previews in the major sports, but do they have a weekly anymore?

It used to be a great reference for sports. The team reports used to be great. This was all back when it was like a paper. I had stacks and stacks of them when I was in junior high and high school.
