So now that the East is put away we have 47 games left. I can see us finishing on high note of 37-10 given schedule and just the intensity of the ballclub. They look focused and determined not to spit the bit. Worst case I see 30-17 and an NLCS appearence. Thoughts?

LOL, we're not winning 107 games. 30-17 is a little more realistic though.

I don't think the team is going to make it to 100 wins. There is the easy schedule, but I don't expect the same intensity the rest of the regular season. I'd love 100 wins, though!

I say 96-98 wins.

I'll make another prediction.

NL East Standings

Braves
Mets
Nats
Phillies
Marlins

Figure they win at a .585 rate the rest of the way would put them at about 98 wins. that means they finish the 47 games at 28-19.

Hope that is enough to take over the best record in the NL and home field advantage the entire way through the NL

100 Wins isn't out of the question, especially since getting there only means winning 2 out of every 3 games, which this team is very capable of doing at this point; however, I expect about 93-95 wins, considering that I fully believe that Fredi will actually take advantage of this lead and rest some guys down the stretch.

I said 97 wins before the season. So, we'll go 27-20 the rest of the way.

We go 28-19.

Johnson wins the batting title with a .332 average.

Justin hits 30+ HRs.

Uggla hits 30+ HRs.

Gattis hits 20+ HRs.

McCann hits 20+ HRs.

Heyward gets his average over .260.

BJ reaches 20 stolen bases.

Heyward does not reach 20 HRs.

Freeman does not reach 20 HRs.

Kimbrel reaches 45 saves.

Minor gets 15+ wins (and 200 innings).

We make the World Series and play Oakland. I'll stop there. Keep the result a mystery. :pimp:

Pirates-Braves NLCS. I envision a great series ala early 90's with Sid Bream throwing out the first pitch of game 7. If I was a Pirates fan the Braves are the last team I would want to face in the NLCS considering the history. I like to see long suffering fan bases have success. I think they enjoy it more. God knows I appreciated my football team winning it all after 30 losing years. As much as I love the Braves I wouldnt be too heart broken if they lost in the NLCS if it was for a team like the Pirates.

Here's a slightly outside-the-box prediction: Medlen will be our best pitcher during the remaining weeks of this season.

Could be. He's got a little mechanical issue to clean up, but he's close...

Could be. He's got a little mechanical issue to clean up, but he's close...

He's 95% there. He was pitching with the rhythm and deception he had last year in his last start.

I don't think the Braves will win 100 games, mostly because they don't seem to play as well against teams with losing records, for some reason.

The record is less important to me than just making sure everyone is healthy and not in a vicious slump when it's playoff time.

The Braves have won 10 straight against teams with under .500 record, so there's that

I don't know if we'll win 100 simply because I think when we get to September Fredi is going to start resting guys.

Assuming we still have the division wrapped up of course.

Bryce Harper gets beaned when the Nats come down to Atlanta.

I'd change the rotation to make sure JT does not pitch in those two series. If he does, he'll get drilled.

Fredi's going to rest guys, but they're still going to start the first 5-6 innings.

Even in the days we were dominating under Bobby, he'd still play guys for a few innings then rest them just to keep them sharp.

It was only on Wednesday or Sunday getaway games Bobby wouldn't start them, especially afternoon games.

What you can do is is mirror what the Braves do early in the year in the lower levels of the farm in how they piggyback guys. If you can match up someone like Martin or Hale with Tehearn you can ensure that Teheran only pitches arouind 2-3 innings to keep him sharp.

I hope that the goal of home-field advantage will keep the team focused. Our better bench guys (Gattis, Terdo, Schafer) should hold their own.

If Medlen starts to roll and we get more good work from one or both Uptons, I don't see any reason to expect a big dropoff. Since I'm already a CyYoung31 copycat, I'll say his win projection sounds good.

I can't go back and look at where I had them at the beginning of the year because of being banned from Scout, but I think it was 94. So that would be 23-23 the rest of the way. I think they'll continue to play well through August, but may put it in cruise mode in September. I think they'll play better than .500 though with Medlen and Beachy (hopefully) coming around.
