Is it just me or is is real hard to cheer for Dykstra? I just picture that tobacco chewing, dirty helmet, ugly P on the helmet.

Sims on a roll.

I've been very hard on Sims, and I'll be the first to admit that he has been killing it lately and that I am now excited about him again. If he keeps this up again next year, he's right back on track.

Sims killed it tonight. Good to see the kid step it up!

Biggest number for Sims is 1 BB. Over his last three starts he's pitched 19.1 inning and walked just 5. In the same time he's K'd 22 and given up just 2 ER.

Sims is the kind of guy who could shoot up the prospect rankings in a hurry. The stuff is there. If he keeps up in the AFL what he's been doing recently at Mississippi then he's a top 100 prospect easy. A good start to next year and he's a top 50.

I honestly think that he has as high of a ceiling as any of our minor league pitchers. This includes the likes of Touki and Fried and both those guys have top of the rotation potential even if they also have a lot of risk attached to them.

If Sims has a solid AFL and a strong start in Gwinnett in early 2016, he may be in our rotation for the second half next season. He's had a very strong late season in Mississippi.

Ruiz seems like he's getting more comfortable. Glad to see his power coming on.

Personally happiest about Sims (of course), but almost as much to see Davidson starting to try to tap into his power a little more recently. Since August 19th, he's slashing .289/.385/.556/.940 with 3 2Bs, 3 HRs, and 3 BBs. The strikeouts are still there (14 during that period), but it does look like he's starting to recognize pitches he can drive more easily.

Seen Braxton a lot. There's a lot of potential there. He gives pitchers too much credit at times and if he were more aggressive, he'd probably decrease his SO's if that makes sense. His dad says he wants to be a complete hitter. His best is yet to come.
