The ump apparently wants to end our streak himself to show his power. Now that Janish is batting 5th Gattis won't see anything rest of night. It will be like having pitcher spot in middle of line-up. Though some of our pitchers are better hitters: Teheran, Minor and Huddy namely.

Dan, witness. That's how to properly field a ground ball and throw it to first.

Uggla's DRS (defensive runs saved) is -14 on the season, he's having one of his worst years defensively. Thankfully Simmons, Freeman and great pitching has picked him up A LOT.

"Hey Brian...I know you've been sitting for 8 innings and haven't swung a bat, but get in there and hit that lefty that's tossing em in at 95 consistently"...

I wasn't just talking about that single at-bat. I made the comment a few days ago on Twitter, I think it was the Cliff Lee game, that McCann doesn't hit lefties anymore. The numbers back that up.

2013
RHP - .304/.395/.620 (1.015)

Not intended as a bash. The breaking ball in the dirt is a weapon against a guy who is aggressive. A pitcher needs to be able to throw it with confidence that the catcher will block it. I would have said the same thing if it had been McCann or Laird.

BJ wasn't running particularly hard, but he had the triple regardless. He was thinking three right away. The ball got caught up under the padding. Upton's throw was bad and the relay from Simmons was off anyway. Walden threw a bad pitch, he put a good swing on it. We should have avoided throwing a curve in the dirt, and Gattis couldn't block it. It happens. Try scoring for a change, and we don't have to worry about it.
