Would like to see Royals over Cardinals with Heyward being the only one producing for the Cards.

I'm saying Dodgers vs Blue Jays with Blue Jays taking it.

Losing Holland is a blow for the Royals, but that team really has the look. The Zobrist pick-up was solid. A lot of positional flexibility and their young hitters have finally developed.

Should be an interesting post-season. Curious to see if the big slugging teams (Astros, Blue Jays) will do well.

Cubs don't advance very far IMO.. they K way too much to be much of a threat in a short series. I see the Cards or Pirates winning the NL this year. AL, I don't care because I know nothing about those teams per se.

I still think the Pirates are the most COMPLETE team in it this year, so it's sad that one bad game against a stud like Arrieta could take them out.

BUT, I'm going to go with Toronto over Mets ;)

Cards over Royals in 5.

Pirates/Cubs both have really good squads, shame both have to play in the Selig game.

Arrieta has been pretty much unhittable but never know what can happen in a one-game setting.

Remember when Medlen was pretty much unhittable in 2012 and failed to show up against the Cardinals in our Selig game?

Not near the same.

Arrieta has a 1.77 ERA across 30+ starts, and has an ERA under 1 in his last 10-12 starts. He's given up 7 runs total in his last 12 starts.

He's been pretty much unhittable.

But somewhat similar in a sense, Arrieta has better swing/miss stuff than Medlen.

It's easy to forget how dominant Medlen was. In 19 appearances including 12 starts post all star break in 2012, Medlen has a 0.94 ERA and 0.821 WHIP along with 95/14 SO/BB ratio. Arrieta has been better, sure, but during that stretch off half a season, there weren't many who were better than Medlen, EVER.

Medlen also had a great second half in 2013 which was why he was #1 in the NLDS.

And he proceeded to give up 5 runs and 9 hits in 4 IP in game 1 lol

Interestingly, in the 2012 WC game, he pitched 6.1 innings and only allowed 3 hits, but allowed 5 runs (2 earned). Talk about bad luck

Yeah, Chipper's error in that game really turned the game around.

Don't forget, Medlen struck out the side both games in the first inning. I remember such hype after he struck out the Cards (a HBP but all 3 outs were K's), and then he did the same against Dodgers. Both games turned out to be miserable though.

I'll never forget man, made the trip down to the game spur of the moment and it was my first ever trip to Turner Field. Wish it turned out differently but don't regret that trip at all

It's also the 3 years to the day of the Wild Card game, which was also Chipper's last. :(

I would like to see a rematch of the 1985 Playoffs and World Series.

Astros beat Yankees
Cubs beat Pirates

Blue Jays beat Rangers
Royals beat Astros
Cardinals beat Cubs
Dodgers beat Mets

Royals beat Blue Jays
Cardinals beat Dodgers

Royals beat Cardinals in 7.

That would make the 2015 Playoffs and WS nearly identical to 1985, with the WC games and DS added. I wouldn't mind the Cards beating the Royals, but I'm still a little bitter from them beating us in 2012.

I would like the Pirates to win because of their great past generosity to the Braves. By rooting for them Braves fans can discharge this karmic debt. It is important.

Heyward also saved a near two run homer in that game, ball was gone but he got his glove up above the wall to bring it back. That was also early in the game too.

Astros over Yankees
Cubs over Pirates

I'll pick the rest when the dumb Selig games are completed.
