Looking at today's starting pitchers, I can only surmise that Perez is as big as a Whale(n).

Whalen had a decent game and good to see Kinman back out there. Hopefully he's his old self now because we might need him later this year the way we burn bullpen arms (and given our other lefty relief options). No disrespect for Cervenka intended as he has helped so far of course. EOF has been the issue and before Cervenka only one lefty was too.

Off days on the farm depress me. These are the only game threads I care about.

Whalen is an important guy to watch this year. Is Rule 5 eligible at the end of this season, and I'd say right now he's on the bubble for a 40 man spot.
