Newcomb escapes a mess.. 2 hits plus 2 walks but only gave up 1 run. He really needs to get his act together.

newcomb breeze through the 2nd.. Now Dansby doubles in the tying run.. he is 1 for 1 with a hit by pitch.. good first impression I would say.

Baby Harang is getting lit up.. wanting to see Ozzie's first AB and He probably not going to survive the top half of the 1st inning..

Newcomb leaving after a hit and walk to start the 6th, he set up the first hit before the walk by falling behind 3-0. He has good stuff but even minus the walks he's also behind in the count way too much.

Janas got out of it in relief without either runner scoring.

I noticed that too.. a lot of 2-0 or 2-1 counts. I hope he really improves that the rest of the year..he is still only 22.. but he has a ton of pressure on him being traded in exchange for Tron..

I'm fearful that the front office may have rushed him. This could really hurt us in the long run.

Gamez, 11th round pick in 2014, makes his Rome debut after short-season work the previous two seasons. Two innings, no hits.

Is Beachy still considered a rookie? Has he accumulated a full years worth of days to pass the rookie limit?

It would be a good thing if Albies experienced some failure in AAA and is forced to learn how to make adjustments.

FYI: Albies was hitless in the Mississippi season opener and reached base in every game after that until his promotion. Just sayin'
