The G-Braves wasted no time replacing Sean Burnett, who demanded his release. Lucas Harrell, a right-hander who spent five years with the White Sox and Astros, made his AAA debut Saturday.
He was recently released by the Tigers after six minor league starts (3-1, 3.86). Harrell is most notable for leading the AL in losses (17) in 2013, Houston's first year in the new league. He has a career major league record of 18-33. He was 11-11 in 2012.

Shae starting the game for Rome tonight. With how Augusta has been hitting against us this year, I assume he's gong to get destroyed.

Newcombe with a Houdini act. Walked the bases loaded in the second with no outs, then got two strikeouts and a groundout.

Swanson just hit his second triple! He's 2-3 on the night and heating up again.

Newcomb is pitching pretty horribly but finding a way to groove out of each inning.

Newcomb 70 pitches to get through 3 innings is crazy bad. I hope he stays in the minors all year next year. He really needs to work on just getting the ball over the plate and trusting his stuff.. I think he trys to K everyone, so he nibbles too much.

Crimson, can you tell if he is missing badly or is he just trying to nibble and get hitters to chase? seems every video I see of him, he is toying with hitters and gets himself in trouble.

Thanks for the in-person updates. Any insights on Newcomb's mound presence? As a guy who seems like he's gonna get in and out of a lot trouble, does he keep a pretty even keel?

Several pitches he has just missed. There have been a couple, a wild pitch included, that he missed badly. The majority have been close, but indeed missed the zone.

There were a couple of times he seemed to show frustration. But, he's gotten through it. But he has been wild. Coincidence or not, the music playing as he warms up for the 4th inning is "Born to be Wild".

We have a bad lack of control problems in the minors. That's why I wouldn't be upset with a stud arm at 3 in the draft.

I don't get why we have all of these high ceiling arms... But cannot get them to curb the control/walk problems at all. Honestly I don't think we do a very good job of developing hitters or pitchers. I know we've always been a pitching developing team, but we haven't done a great job in a long time.

Hursh was really good tonight with 3.1 innings of solid work. His ERA is down to 3.47. After a rough start, he's been really good.

Albies was 0-5 tonight. I'm not sure if he destroyed the ball or not, but that sucks after he's been very good over the last week.

I only keep up with brave prospects. Is control problems a common issue for most prospects?

Some observations from Mobile:

Sean Newcombe: His theme song should be either "Walk This Way" or "Born to be Wild". Six walks says it all. It is amazing that after he walked the bases loaded with no outs in the second inning, he got out of it with no runs scoring. He also allowed back to back triples in the first, though the first was when Dustin Peterson missed on a diving attempt. He did show flashes also as to why he's a prospect. But, he has to get those control problems worked out.

Jason Hursch: First time seeing him and he looked good. Liked his velocity, though I can't tell you what he was throwing since the stadium doesn't have a radar gun in fan view.

Dansby Swanson: What else can you say? The kid is good. His three hits went the opposite way. Even two of his out were balls hit well.

Dustin Peterson: Great night for him as well, driving in a couple runs.

Jacob Schrader: Watching him just tonight, looks like an all or nothing hitter. A couple pops in short RF, but hit an bomb in left center for a homer.

I think it's at least an area concern, given the rebuild is sort of premised on developing these guys.

I prefer this one

@MiLB @sportsandra In 4 yrs Swanson won't be playing for the Braves, bc they won't want to resign him, unless we have huge TV deal in place.
