The whole point of Adonis going to AAA was to play LF. The ONLY reason. This is absolutely stupid. I get the Chase situation, but good lord that's stupid.

Expecting a yuge game from Mallex.

Plus Blair is a ground ball pitcher.

I swear MLB is trying to protect their umpires' egos. So many clearly wrong calls getting upheld on replay.

That was a horrible call, but great job by Aaron to get out.

Mallex has to catch that.

The ball's carrying today. I thought that triple was just going to be a routine fly ball off the bat.

Man, Mallex. But Blair's stuff does not look good today

Chip is so dumb he called Freeman's last AB a good AB just before he K'd for the second time in it and after chasing a ton of balls outside.

I really hope they get a new TV broadcast crew soon. It seems like as soon as we get some good ones (Boog, Tom Hart...etc) they move on to better things and we get stuck with these 2 bozos forever. I wish they could have snagged Smoltz to work with Boog, those 2 guys would have been great fun!

I missed that inning where they scored two off Blair, sounds like Mallex misplayed that ball to CF? But watching the innings since and looking at his velocity on those hits. His stuff looks good to me, this last inning his sinker has really got movement leading to some swing and misses the way it dipped and dived. Good off-speed too.

Whatever the case, one more clean inning and it's a quality start.

He's taking out Blair now? Seriously?!

Actually hit Mallex's glove like Prado last night.

Would be real bad PR to fire Chip because Skip is so loved in Braves legend. I wish we could just switch and get Don and Powell.

I don't care if they keep him on via radio, but he does need replacing IMO.

Just youtube Chip Caray's blunders.

The best one by far is "LINE DRIVE BASE HIT! CAUGHT OUT THERE"

If Blair was allowed to get that last out he'd be in line for his first MLB win. Not now though.

Can MLB please trade Miami to the NL Central for St. Louis or Milwaukee? Atlanta needs to keep losing. Marcell Ozuna is single-handedly making sure that doesn't happen.

LOL at Miami.

4-0 vs. LAD and actually 6-7 vs. Washington but a pitiful 0-5 vs. Atlanta.

We own the Marlins, at least we own someone. Actually that sounds bad...

BTW, I found out after seeing a doctor this week that I have vertigo. Now I know how Nick Esasky felt I guess. That is who I thought of anyway.

Usually when we're not crappy though the Marlins are one of our worst thorns in the side.

The early 2000's was so annoying to play them.

The theme of the season is obviously avenging ourselves on the team that fired Fredi.

Both of them.

Partly through serendipity, I feel that the team we are putting out there is getting more competitive. The latest improvement involves more playing time for Castro at short. I'd like to see him get a few hits, but even if he doesn't the defensive upgrade will be significant. With Garcia activated, we have another right-handed option in the outfield. Francoeur has been hot lately, but I think eventually Garcia will prove to be the more reliable option in the outfield.

In the infield, Beckham has been hitting the ball very well. Even his outs have often come on line drives. I think a good chunk of his improvement this year is real and sustainable. I'm not as sold on D'Arnaud, but between him and KJ (and maybe Peterson) we have a combination that should fill out the remaining infield spot fairly competently.

The bullpen looks fairly solid to me now. And that's even before the return of Simmons. The rotation will have its up and downs, but we have the option of calling up Gant if one of the current group goes into a tailspin.

For those who couldn't go, yesterday was awesome - loud and enthusiastic. Crowd was great, and it was packed early - I walked over from the Bullpen Rib House way early - about 1:25 - and there were already 25-30 people in line ahead of me at the Southwest Gate.

Blair was better, but unless they make some adjustments he's going to be a 6 inning guy at best - he simply doesn't throw enough strikes. He'll obviously improve as he learns more (hopefully), but he definitely doesn't look like someone who's comfortable as a "pitch-to-contct" guy - yet. I really hadn't noticed it so much watching on TV, but he's a human rain delay on the mound - maybe speeding him up a little will help like slowing Folty down has. Makes things really tough on his defenders by being both slow between pitches and throwing so many pitches that hitters don't offer at. He's an absolute horse and is built to consistently throw 115-120 pitches to get through 7 innings, but if he can do that in the Atlanta heat he'll be one of a select few who ever could.

Got tons of pictures, but won't be able to post any until I get them onto my office computer - took my work camera to get really good ones to put in my "Braves Office" and my mancaves at the house since yesterday may have been my last trip to The Ted.
