If only Chipper hadn't had himy blocked at 3rd. His career might've turned out very differently...

I thought they moved Chipper to LF to get Hessman in the line-up.

No, they moved Chipper to LF when they signed Vinny Castilla

I've got to think my man was being facetious there.

That's actually really strange that we did that in hindsight.

yeah... gotta remember tho, Castilla was coming off those monster bat years in Colorado, and was considered a top glove man at 3b. That was during those years where we had Russ Ortiz as the ace and tried to make up for it with massive offense. It never really worked out as he didn't hit much for us. But I can see why they tried it.

I remember how Chipper would chase down a fly ball, throw it in and shake his head like "wtf am I doing out here?"

Castilla was a couple years removed from his Colorado numbers and the year before we signed him had been literally released by the worst team in baseball for being terrible.

He's a rookie here. He doesn't know. That was 14 years ago.

Clearly after a solid year with Houston, suspenders felt SVOD was a player of high caliber.
