Trying to think...what is the opposite of a slumpbuster?

Maybe the Braves are just the fat girl in this scenario.

The fat girl who is the most fun to dance with.

Not the prettiest girl at the dance, but with a lot of grit and veteran leadership.

Also maturity and clutchness.

It's only been a few games, but Alvarez looks pretty interesting. You can see how this guy had a 14 K/9 rate against LHH in MiLB. Effectively wild so far.

We have actually uncovered 3 lefty relievers who look like keepers.

Yeah, it's a nice little development going into next year. Even if one of them turns south in the second half or gets hurt, we're in a much better position from the left side than I would have guessed. Now just need to hope Simmons and Winkler can get back to health from the right side.

I would settle for one of Simmons or Winkler making a return to his best form. Both would be fantastic.

Man we were spoiled when we had Venters O'Flaherty and Avilan.

Yep, either one would give us a legit late-inning reliever. Winkler from March to mid-April was the most dominant Braves pitcher I saw all year . . . by far.

Poor Albies... Gonna be blocked by jace for a long time. Ok, maybe not, but jace is playing well

Jace is young and will be a useful player for Atlanta as a super utility guy. He got some reps in the OF at Gwinnett, so he is a guy that can play a little short, second, possibly third, and in the outfield.

Snit thinking a couple moves ahead letting Cervenka pitch to Stanton. Now he gets a righty against Johnson.

Don't need one when you have jace Peterson

The ability to take the ball to left field is the biggest improvement I've seen in Peterson. Last year Peterson would have tried to pull that ball and it would have been a weak grounder to second.

We're not gonna keep winning like this... if we stay around .500 under snitker though, does he become a real candidate?

Some nice come-from-behind wins in this streak. This team plays the game the right way. Grit. Clutchness. Veteran Leadership. Maturity.

I like the current pen. But we should give up the eighth guy for a left handed bench bat (or switch hitter who can hit righties).

In the last four games, the Braves have won and the opponents started in those games Matt Harvey, Steven Matz, Jacob deGrom, and Jose Fernandez.

Yes. He should be a candidate regardless. He knows how to manage his team. The difference under him and Fredi is that Brian has created a better environment for the team to be successful. He's managing the clubhouse better, and the players are responding. He knows what buttons to push.
