The 2013 Atlanta Braves: now featuring more Johnsons than a Robert Mapplethorpe exhibit.

RF Diesel Upton. Not nitty, not gritty.

2B Some Johnson. Not really.
P Julio Teheran. The Jive Turkey. Baby Pedro. Don Cartagena. Future Plunking Ace. Not giving a ****.

Schafer now 3-31 with 11 K and only 3 BB since coming back from the DL.

Is there any disputing FF is our best hitter? To me consistency is what makes a hitter great and Freeman is the only consistent hitter we have.

One thign that annoys me about Molina, is the way he receives and just flicks the ball back to the pitcher.

McCann is so classic with the setup, receive, and throw back.

Now that we have 3 Johnsons, when is Freddy coming up to make the Tri-Fecta. Has there ever been a team with two sets of triplets?

Both Gattis and Schafer were playing well until an injury forced them out of the lineup. They have both struggled to get going again. That could mean they were fools gold and would have come back to earth soon anyway, or it could mean they need a Spring Training to get ready. Either way, they need to get it going again.

I agree. Justin needs to control his emotions. Umpires, though need to be held to an equally high standard, if not higher. It is their job to keep the game fair.

That's the third time in this series, that Braves pitchers have given up a run immediately after their team just got them one. They've got to have some shutdown innings to have a chance.

The problem with my previous post is that BJ is now 1-25 with 12 K and 1 BB in that same time span. Schafer has 4 SB to BJ's 1 during that time, so please hurry back J-Hey and Reed!

I don't know what outfielders are available out there right now, but the Braves better be looking because they don't only need one, they need two, CF and LF right now are black holes and Justin ain't so hot now himself. Heck, at this point, I'd stick Todd Cunningham out there tomorrow and see if he can provide a spark.

If true that's unfortunate, they are professionals and just have to deal with it. I know the circumstances were different but they played through Heyward being on the DL earlier this year, they just need to do it again, or else Jason won't be coming back for anything until 2014.

Suddenly, there's not much to be excited about with this team. Heyward's injury sure deflated the team and fans. I honestly believe the Nats have a good chance of catching us now. The Braves are in a bad spot and I can see it lighting the "fire" under the Nats' butts to play better. Hope it doesn't happen, but unless Heyward can come back for the post season and pick up where he left off, do any of you see us making it past the first round?

And the life out of the GDTs as well.

I think many of us are just depressed to see the team is super depressed about his injury.

We're 0-3 in games not started by Heyward since his injury. That should bump his WAR +3.

He was making a strong case for MVP imo. Before he was leadoff, we were a good team. When he went to leadoff, our record with him there and his numbers were amazing.

I'd imagine it must've been stressing him out.

When the guy ahead of you isn't getting on base and is expected to get on base (Schafer, Simmons), the pressure falls on you to get on for the big boys.

AT least when he was in leadoff, he could freestyle. Hit a homer, get a single, take a walk.

Jason would never blame a teammate for his problems hitting second. He was just scared of the responsibility.
