Since coming off the DL (though a very small sample) Schafer has a .250 OPS

Why in Heyward's sake are we batting him leadoff and benching Bossman for him? While Bossman hasn't been good this month (.500 OPS) he has way more upside than Schafer.

This team has not shot of overcoming Heyward's injury with Fredi at the helm.

I'll be enjoying a beer I didn't get to enjoy during my fantasy draft because of changed plans, but every time someone who's not Justin or Freddie doesn't bring in a RISP or at least advance the runner, it's shot time.

We're 12 up on the Nats. If BJ is struggling and we're 3.5 ahead, I'll consider putting BJ back on the bench and putting Schafter out htere, or maybe platooning.

Schafer has a .628 career OPS. As a full-time starter, who will be better the rest of the year between he and BJ is a toss up. Dan was roughly the same age though when he got here and was also terrible like BJ except he had a monster second half of the season but even when Dan was terrible that first half of the season he still was hitting for power. B.J has only hit for an ops over .800 once in his career and that was when he was 23 and hasn't came close to a season as good as that since. He also had a year in 2009 where he was horrible with an ops below .700. BJ also had a very low amount of walks last year and his career numbers are anything but consistent. He's had really good years, average years and piss poor years. He's a guy who is vastly over paid and has a terrible contract and that's not his fault but I also question his heart and determination.

GreenwoodBrave

I think it's a tough spot.
Our bullpen is great, so it's easy to turn it over to them and let Minor pitch less going into the post-season. For the most part, we won't need him to go 8+ to win games in the playoffs, so I'm not sure I agree that he needs to go another inning. Don't let the lineup see him for the 4th times through today.
