I'd think this has to be one of Weigel's last few starts in Rome unless they decide to promote Fried once he is over his blister for a couple starts. With Touki, Allard, Soroka and Sanchez needing starts but probably not being ready for Carolina, I'd think one of the two get bumped up before August is done.

Good lord that Rome rotation has filthy talent in it right now. Weigel should be moved up. The Carolina rotation is pretty barren outside of Matt Withrow, whose future is as a reliever, IMO.

As strong as our farm system is, Carolina is almost completely barren of talent.

Well, I'm not particularly concerned with how Cleveland chooses to assign its talent.

It always seems to happen each year that one of the minor league teams has little in terms of prospects. Carolina seems to have drawn the short straw this year. I'm surprised that some of the guys from Rome haven't moved up. Had Acuna not been hurt, I think either he or Didder would have been in Carolina by this point.

Weigel is cruising tonight. 6 IP, 6 K and the only person to get on base was due to an error.

So much pitching every night to follow on the farm lol

Albies with a double and a single. Pretty amazing the way he is dominating AA at age 19.

Sims looked pretty good, but still walked 4 people. Peterson is making me think he could be good.

Swanson still struggling. Hope he snaps out of it soon and gets hot.

In an interview Swanson more or less admitted that his first year in pro ball took a lot out of him and is the reason why he's struggling.

Best offensive night of the year for the farm system. Not even close.

His contact skills for sure are starting to look very solid.

He's probably gassed.

Hursh has had a really solid July. 40-man decision looms on him. Curious to see what the decision is.

Don't feel bad. It took me an embarrassingly long time to stop saying "Richmond" when I talked about our AAA team.

Swanson made contact in every at-bat. He has very good speed getting down the first base line. He made all the plays in the field. Albies has some opposite field power when batting lefty. Peterson and Meneses both hit the ball hard nearly every at-bat. I could see Sims and Hursh both called up in September.

Makes sense on Swanson getting tired. I bet he got serious way before Spring Training. Then played more games in Spring than most, and played hard trying to live up to expectations. He seemed to fall off hard about the time that ex teammate went down. I hope this makes management make him take is easy this offseason and early Spring. And they give him a month plus in the minors to start 2017 even if he kills it during the Spring.
