I assume most on this forum play. How do your teams look this yr. This is the first yr I've played for a cash payout. 25 to enter to win 125. 2nd place wins 75.

We drafted last Tuesday in an 8 man league (hard to find players on night shift). Since it's a shallow league, everyone has a stacked team. Everyone went QB happy at the start, but I kept taking RB's since QB is deep this yr. Here's how my team panned out:

QB:
R. Wilson
Roethlisberger
Schaub
Locker

RB:
Ray Rice
Richardson
Demarco Murray
David Wilson
Shonn Greene

WR:
Megatron
Mike Wallace
Greg Jennings
Britt
Stevie Johnson - Bills
Kendall Wright

TE:
Jimmy Graham
Jermichael Finley

Defense:
Bengals
Giants

K:
Bironas

Overall, I'm very happy with my team. 4 of the top 15-20 backs, and Megatron. Wish I had a better 2nd WR, but I'm happy with what I have.

How is your team(s) looking? Are we looking to start a ChopCountry league?

12 team league
QB Newton
RB Lynch
RB Murray
WR Demaryius Thomas
WR Colston
WR T.Y hilton
TE Martellus Bennett(should've gone after a TE earlier)
Flex: Green-ellis
D: Bears
K: Zuerlein

my first opponent modified his starting lineup for week 1, going with Wilson over Brees at QB... LOL

Oh, and it's a QB favorable league.

Kaep and Richardson for AP and a throw in.

I'm not, worried he may have a little bit of regression especially without Crabtree.

NinersSBChamps

I am not necessarily on the bandwagon per se. I think he will have a good season and when I picked him there weren't many quarterback options.

Heyward
09-03-2013, 02:22 PM
I would take him, just not at the rate he's going.

The drop off from RB's in the first 2-3 rounds to 4-6 is HUGE.

Not a big difference fantasy wise from Rodgers to say, a Eli/Romo/Stafford in the 7th-9th round. I wait on QB's.

Got a draft tommorow, plan to do the same.

Tapate50

Got a 10 team PPR league drafting tonight. Won it last year. Has a nice little wrinkle in it though... Every transaction cost you a dollar, and you can auction a player off in weeks 7 or 8 and 50 % tax on the selling price goes to the pot to build it up. Also 50 dollar penalty for last and 25 for next to last.

Kaep will be a better real life QB than fantasy QB. He won't be runnign as much as he did last year. I wouldn't take him in fantasy for that reason.

This is the first time I can remember where I actually had guys on my fantasy team that were on the 49ers. I have a handful of teams and I believe they are all have Vernon Davis.

Frank Gore may not be a flashy pick, but he is a rock solid No 2 RB in Fantasy football. Great OL helps.

I like what SJax will bring to Atlanta. Guy can be a PPR monster. Should score 10 tds easily.

They are going to dial back his carries this year and then increase for the playoffs. Hunter is a great later round rb pick.

Basically there's a pretty decent chance Kaep regresses this yr as the league adjusts to him. He barely started half a season's worth of games. Not to mention he lost his best WR. Oh, and there's the little fact that RG3 is the better player regardless of any of the other stuff I just mentioned.

QB: R. Wilson
RB: A. Peterson, S. Ridley, D. Sproles, B. Green-Ellis, T. Gerhart
WR: J. Jones, W. Welker, Mike Williams, A. Jeffrey, S. Rice
TE: B. Myers

My league (stupidly, I think) doesn't use a flex, so I may have screwed myself grabbing Sproles when I could have gotten a better WR 2/3. Then again, I got a passing draft grade from Yahoo. :elefant:

That is a pretty good comparison.

Ogletree's stock was on the rise due to Robinson's awesome season as the #3 WR for Dallas the year before...then he had that awesome game week 1 and it was all justified.

Thomas was getting that Antonio Gates BB Player crap all summer and now he goes off like that week 1? lol watch out

They didn't sign Jacobs to be a bench warmer. I'm guessing it will be RB by committee until one of them Wilson can show he can be a feature back. His pass blocking is really bad and Coughlin obviously doesn't have much faith in him right now. I don't have to start Wilson anyways, since I have Rice, Richardson, and Murray.

Thinking I'll start either Julius Thomas or Edelman as my other Flex this week. Peyton loves throwing it to his TEs and Thomas looks like a beast. Edelman is basically all Tom Brady has in the passing game this week

They were going to sign a back before Wilson had his fumble issues, and Jacobs is like 32, and out of game shape. Consider he was 5th on the depth chart in San Fran when he played last (2 years back?). He is insurance pure and simple. I also didn't realize you were in a 5 team league.

Carp
09-12-2013, 12:43 AM
Either way, Wilson is playing the Broncos D, and they shutdown Ray Rice in week 1. If Wilson were my No. 2 RB, I'd probably still be playing him. That is, if Joique Bell was not on the waiver wire.

And I don't expect Jacobs to get much more than 5 carries if he plays at all. But I do expect it to be more of a RB by committee. I doubt Wilson sees over 20 touches this week.

Tapate50
09-12-2013, 07:52 AM
Still, he is a homerun hitter in a backfield full of waiver wire talent. He did the same thing last year. Might be first game jitters. He is basically all they got, and the NYG aren't good enough to have hiim sit. As Coughlin said " We need him".

thethe

I missed out on almost every single one of my claims on the wire. Really like the Eagles D this week. They will get burned, but they looked aggressive against Washington. They will creat some TO's.

Amendola\Vereen injuries have killed me in a 14 teamer. I was going to start Vereen over Lamar Miller this week. Amendola went down and someone already had Edelman. Gotta start Mike Williams TB instead. Yuck, but he is a TD killer.

David Wilson is ****in terrible. I've watched him since his VT days. He's got speed and may be good for 2 long runs a year, but on a per carry basis, he's bad. At best, he should be a 3rd down back (tho he can't block). What a terrible draft pick.
