The more disturbing thing about this game is getting owned again by Kyle Freakin Kendrick and the prospects of a sweep with Maholm against Hamels tomorrow. This team has picked a bad team to stop hitting and it's going to come back to cost them in the post-season.

Simmons just tried to do too much. He was probably thinking that he could take third on a swing and miss by BJ and then hope for a fly ball to tie the game. Unfortunately BJ once again struck out so the Braves better do something in the 8th or this game is over.

Look, plain and simple....Uggla does not need to be in the lineup or post season roster. Enough is enough of his sh*t. BJ needs to be on that same chopping block.

Upton has been playing better ball than Schafer. Since the beginning of August Bossman has a .664 OPS and Jordan a .503. Since June 1st Schafer is at .618 and Bossman is at .676.

Upton has sucked but Schafer has sucked more since June. And Schafer has also sucked much more over his career than Bossman

So I'll go with the hotter hitter and the better career hitter. Only way Bossman is benched for the post season is if Jason is healthy. Then you put Terds or Gattis in LF.

As far as Uggla, largely the same thing. Janish is hot ass with the bat and while Elliot Johnson is hitting now, that won't continue.

That said we should be hitting them in 7th and 8th and that's it. Til Jason comes back

RF - Justin
C - Mac
1B - Freeman
LF - Gattis/Terds
3B - Johnson
SS - Simmons
then Uggs and Bossman.

He was not going to use Hale and put a unproven rookie into a tie game in the 9th inning, that wasn't going to happen. This is a tough one to swallow.
But now we're looking at almost guaranteed four game losing streak. This team to put a brake on things before they spiral out of control.

We basically threw game three of the Mets series by pitching Loe. When you start throwing away games like that you end up in losing streaks. I mean seriously, Loe has been so bad this year he had an ERA over 8.00 coming in (and had been released by two teams including the lowly Cubs).

You guys are being hard on Garcia. Yes I know he threw one pitch tonight, but before that he's been very, very good, not giving up anything. Luis Avilan deserves some blame too. If he does his job and doesn't give up that 5th run in the 8th inning, then Simmons homer gives them the lead and Kimbrel closes it out.

Marquis just said Freddy needs to "change the lineup a bit". I was hoping he would clarify by advocating for some bench players to get a chance to start or did he mean to juggle up the current lineup construction. I personally think he meant to let some bench players have a chance. Replace BJ, Uggla and give Justin a night off as well.

Here's a serious question, with the injury to Downs the Braves need another lefty. Do they call on Joe Beimel and bring him up to pitch since he's already in the organization. It will be interesting to see but they need a second lefty in the bullpen with Downs unavailable.

Nah, Garcia pitching scoreless innings in games already over doesn't suddenly make him better. He was very bad this year in Baltimore, when it matters he falls apart. He cannot be counted on outside of pitching mop up duty. I was told that was all he'd see, so much for that.

Well, the reason he was used tonight is because the only guys left in the bullpen where Hale, Loe and Kimbrel. We know Hale wasn't going to be used because he's a rookie and that's not a spot for him. Loe, well, do we need to say more and Kimbrel wasn't going to be used until it became a closing situation. So by process of elimination it had to be Garcia.

Maybe because the M-Braves are in the playoffs.

I don't expect Tommy to come up. I hope he does, but given the fact that Mississippi could be playing ball for a little longer and La Stella is set to go to Arizona I think they may just give him the rest of the month off to rest. Hope he comes up. Rather have him in Atlanta than Arizona, but anyone getting their hopes up for La Stella are putting their faith in the wrong place. Braves are too future conscious right now to risk screwing up someone as talented as Tommy.
